    Tire Help (17" Bullet)

I mounted the G-friend wheels today and noticed she's going to need new front rubber. Currently she has 235/40/17 on the front, which IMO look WAY too small, and 275/40/17's on the rear.

So what tire combo do you new edge guys run?

245's will also look too small if those are aftermarket 17x9 fronts which they appear to be. I assume those are 17x10.5 in the rear and 17x9 front, if so the ideal tires would be 315-35-17 in the rear and 275-40-17 up front. Since she already has 275's out back, you'll need a 255 or 265 is you can find them with the correct aspect ratios to match the rear tire height for it to look right.

Paul you think I should mount her rears on the front and get a set of 315's?

That's actually a great idea. I'm 99% sure there will not be fitment issues in doing so as 315/275 seems to be the staple of modern staggered fitments on all mustangs '04-94, but let one of the guys with a 99-up car chime in. On the 94-98's a 17X9 can cause some rubbing with a 275 if the backspacing gets too close to 6". Stay just under it and they seem to work fine. I had to install '03 cobra A arms on my '94 after sending one of my '03 anniversary cobra wheels into the A arm during a slide since they are shaped different and allow for more clearance where mine hit. I have also since added rack limiters just to be on the safe side. I don't believe either of these are needed with a '99-up car, and honestly if I didn't autocross my car and really push the suspension I don't think I would have ever had an issue either.

OK I just found a SCREAMING deal on Kelly Fierce 255/40/17 (summer tire which is fine) ... Anyone have any idea how these may look with the 275/40/17 on the rear?

315's are too much money and that lil 6 banger would probably have a hard time rolling them!

i run 315/35/17 rears on 10.5 rims and 225/45/17 or 245/45/17 on the front with 8 inch stock bullitts the 245s rub a bit on the front because its lowered and c/c plated but does no damage.
