I don't think that carton would have been far fetched in 1948 considering what was happening in the world post WWII. I think it was more to keep people reminded of threats to their very existence and not to become complacent in what they had. To keep vigil for those that would try to take those freedom and liberties away.

Sad thing is people today need a swift kick in the ass. It's the I want my handouts, not to have to work hard, to have big brother catch you when you fall for failing society today.

I have wondered how many things have never been invented or improved on because of Governemt interferance in our lives. We would be living in the dark ages if the commie EPA was around 200 years ago.
