    Equipment?

I plan on taking my car to the drag strip to get a time sometime this spring/summer. When my car is done, I will pretty much just have the normal bolt ons plus 4:10's..I figure my car will run mid to high 13's. Ive never ran a car at the drag strip before so I need to know what if any safety equipment I need. (helmet etc..)

Helmet. Make sure your battery is locked in tight, and your car isn't leaking anything.

for the times you mentioned, just worry about a helmet.most drag strips have a section on their website that will tell you the requirements as well. or just call and ask.they are usually pretty cool about that.

Also make sure you are wearing long pants. You are not allowed to run at all in shorts. Other than that, id bring a helmet like was said just in case.

    Helmet, yes.
Battery hold on, stock is fine.
Radiator overflow catch bottle, stock is fine.
    Functional seat belts.
    No missing lug nuts.
Long pants, good call. If it's hot out, wear shorts and bring a pair of sweats that you can pun on before and take off after the run.
If you run slicks, you are required to have a driveshaft loop (must be within 6 inches of the front universal joint), but it's a good idea to have anyway
Those are the basics. Any questions, ask away. I'm a track rat. I hope you have a blast. Let us know how you do.

Maybe a trailer too. You will find the weakest link in your set up the hardway. It is a real pain in the but trying to get a broken car home.

Oh yes!! Very handy. I've been called late at night to fetch friends cars from the track (or from along side the road after some spirited driving!).......I've also called for Dad to run to my house, get my truck and trailer and come to the track!!
