    CCW Race wheels are on!

I finally got around to installing my longer wheel studs in order to mount my new autocross wheels. I have my 1st event at Wyotech this saturday, so we'll see how they perform!

I like the CCW wheels. But they are starting to turn into the Cobra R wheels. Everybody is getting them. Still nice though.

^ Ouch! I am not sure where you buy your Cobra R wheels but they can be had for a bit cheaper than CCWs. Infact...They can be had for about the cost of new bolts in a CCW wheel.

    1. I dont have or want to buy Cobra R wheels.
    2. I said they are nice, the CCW wheels that is.
    3. I just said they are starting to show up a lot more on mustangs. Like the cobra r wheels did.

Thanks everyone! The weather sucked but I still ventured out on Saturday. Temps in the 50's, 5yr old race tires, rain, and a surface that was just sealed last fall didn't help the car stick at all... :( The car count was low due to the weather but I was FTD until Snailmont50 pulled a ringer out on his last run and beat my 31.9 with a 31.7X. Congrats again Mike, I don't know where you found the extra time savings out there!

Modularmike- I bought these wheels used so I'm not 100% sure on the specs. They are 17X10's to the best of my knowledge and the backspacing is a just a bit less than my '03 anniversary cobra wheels which I believe are right around 5.95"-6", don't hold me to that though as I'm not 100% certain. The tires are 275-40-17 Kuhmo V710's. I wanted to run a 295 but Kuhmo only make them in a 40 series tire. Hoosier makes a 295-35-17 which would work, but they are more expensive and they wear out much faster. I'm hard on tires so I'll give up a little stick if I can get them to last a full season or more.

    Dan B.- I beeped! :)

Bob- I know that picture looks like I have a lot of camber, but I'm severely camber limited. This has been a problem for me since I started modifying the suspension. I have my MM CC plates in the negative orientation and I'm still only able to get ~1.4* of camber on the passenger side. My plate on the driver side is complete maxed out for minimum camber and I have 1.5* on that side, and my passenger plate is completely maxed out for maximum camber and I only have 1.3*. I'm going to check the squareness of the K member this week to see if it is tweaked over or not.

Wick- Thanks for the complement. While I would agree that these are one of the more popular high end wheels for mustangs, I doubt at nearly 5x's the cost of a reproduction cobra wheel they will become as common. I wouldn't buy a new set due to their cost, at least not for only autocrossing on, but I bought them used at a good enough price that I couldn't pass them up.

Tammy- I was FTD until Mike managed to beat me on his last run. He managed to pickup over a full second between his previous fastest run to the one where he beat me. I still don't know how he did it!
