    Wet sanding and polishing CCW's?

So my CCW's got left out over winter and stuck in the wash bay when it got the TSB done, wheels are pitted and oxidized, so I heard the best way to get it back to the shine is going to be using a 600 grit, then 800 grit, then 1500 grit, then finish with a 2000 grit. I have Adams #1 polish and poor boys wheel sealant but I have never sanded wheels or polished metal other than some basic applying polish and that was it...

Any tips or tricks to this? How will I know when to change from the 600 to the 800 ect...

not sure if i would go that coarse on the wheels. when wheels get that bad i will mount them in tire machine and run the buffer over them. use an old wool pad.

You know when to change grit when the scratches are gone from the last grit. With them already being polished, you can start with the 800 or even the 1000. Keep it wet with soapy water. You must use a very soft towel to polish with the compound or the towel will leave scratches.

Hey we have to get a hold of you my dad is about done collecting all the rest of the parts, he's in no rush and we got bogged down with work

I will try with the 800, I need to get some ceramic brake pads too to keep down the dust

I am happy with how it came out with only starting with 1000 grit, going to 1500 grit, then finishing with 2000 and a quick polish job, the front part of the wheel is going to take a lot longer though

Do your rears dust up real bad? I went with Wagner Thermo Quiets - Organic and it's held down the dust and no noise at all. They DO dust, but it's a light gray color and wipes off easy.

My F150 has 27K on it and is on its 3rd set of pads and second set of rotors - purely due to my OCD issues with the dust. OEM came off at 900 miles, Wearever ceramics went on, they came off after 1000 miles, put Porterfields on then after 15K put slotted rotors on. Read all over no one gets dust, mine dust up in about 50-75 miles and the pad changes just changed the color of the dust, but not the amount of dust. Ceramics are great when they warm up, other than that I never saw an advantage. If I need another set I'll go with the TQ's and I'll never buy slotted brake graders again.
