need help here pls ford guys

i have a 98 f150 with a 4.6 auto that has a serious miss at low rpm's while driving not at idleing . i replaced injectors, plugs, wires, and even swapped the coils out and it did not change anything .. it threw the engine light b4 and it came up cyl 4 misfire and thus being the reason i tried changeing stuff .but it is not throwing the light anymore and i dont know or have any other ideas .its not a constant miss it comes and goes so any ideas or input would be apprecheiated . thanks

If you replaced your plugs wires and coils. You could have fuel, evaporative emission, or base engine concern. Check to see if the engine has a dampner mounted pulse ring. You want to check the crank pulley for wobble and inspect the pulse ring sometimes its necessary to remove the front cover. If the dampner wobbles you need a new dampner

x2..How long do you usually drive it? If you don't drive it for a long period of time, the computer doesnt go through all the checks it needs to provide a check engine light if it needs to. So say you drive 2 miles a day, it probably doesnt go through the whole system, just as far as you drive it. Take it for a long drive probably 35-40 minutes, if a check engine light comes on get it scanned right away. If not, well..Not really sure..but I was thinking 02 sensor as well. Hope you get it fixed!

Mine does this frequently after heavy rain. Moisture gets around the plug boot and down in the head. I have to pull the boot and dry out the hole and that fixes it.

My guess would be something with the coil as well. I've experienced some of these same issues before and moisture around the c.o.p. and or the c.o.p. itself can cause these issues. Good luck hope you find the problem.

02 would throw a light and i have no light and yes it feels exactly like there is water in the head .ive had that happen b4 . feels exactly like that but not all the time . im thinking maybe a fuel regulator cause it breaks up on heavy pulling or when i get on it pulling out .. but i hate to keep to guessing its expensive that way .. so thanks guys and keep the ideas coming

and i dont think i have a map sensor and i have the 4.6 with just 2 coils not 8 if it makes a difference

most of the time a miss when under load is an ignition problem though. Usually......
