Local Tranny Builders....recommendation??

My C4 is going out to be rebuilt...it kinda puked last fall after about ten years of spirited driving. You fellas have any local builders that you would feel confident in recommending for a rebuild?? The tranny is going behind a healthy 351W for street and strip beatings.

How far are you from Midland PA?

Lester Adams, Adams Auto.

He does my C-6 sled pulling transmissions. Redneck, inexpensive, but knows his shit. He is a retired Fed-Ex mechanic and now runs a hobby garage (6,800 square foot shop) behind his house.

For your older pushrod stuff, from rebuilds to repairs. He does work on newer stuff, but typically I see him doing remove/replace stuff on the newer stuff. He also rebuilds Powerstoke and Cummins diesels. I've never seen him allow a GM product on his property. Lester is of a dieing breed, he does rear ends, engine rebuilds, transmissions, body work... he is not a oil change and brake pad kind of guy. He typically gets the big jobs that most shops try to shy away from.

areal good tranny shop is in california pa. it is called all star transmission. don't have the number, but u could get it from directory assistance
