No marker lights, No tail lights, No dash lights, headlights OK...need elec. help

Car (90 LX 5.0) has been sitting for 3 weeks. Start it up today and head over to a buddy's during the day. Tonight I leave and there are no dash lights, no marker lights, no tail lights, but the headlights, turn signals, and high beams work.

Also, the high beam indicator on the instrument cluster DOES work...but no other lights.

The headlight switch has two positions: marker lights, and headlights.

If the marker light position on the switch is dirty or bad, will that also keep the tail lights and dash lights from working?

If that does not work John, try looking at the multifunction switch. Look for charred wires or melting on the plug.

there was a bad connection at some point in previous ownership...the plug was cracked and slightly melted. I took some sandpaper, electrical cleaner, and dielectric grease to it this morning and it's working like new. If it happens again I'm going to have to source a new plug though.

I did replace the battery with an optima redtop I had from the slowbra....it was better but still a little sluggish to start. Now it seems to be getting worse. The battery checked out good with over 1000 CCA so I suspect the starter is on it's way out.

    Alway's something...
