Supercheap tires- what would you do?

Ok so here's the deal. My fuel efficient daily needs some new rubber. I'm looking at all seasons so that I can get some use out of them until about October or so.

My options for about the same price seem to be either the Pirelli 4 seasons or walmart tires.

Which would you use? Discount tire direct has the pirellis in my size (185/65-14) for $240.00 shipped.

    Canadian tire ????

I think a lot depends on the mount and balance price. Around here, it seems like unless you have a hook-up for M&B, the retailers are a better deal (except specialy tires).

I checked out wacky tire (i.e. Canadian Tire). They want around $370 OTD for 4 tires mounted and balanced. Unless where I go in the states charges more than $30.00 a tire for a mount and balance (I'm coming to the States so Id have them shipped to a US address) I'm farther ahead getting the Pirellis.

Alternatively, getting the Pirellis M&B on steelies would be about $450 shipped. Add 20 bucks to unmount the rubber on my other steelies, and I've in essence bought another set of steelies for $25.00/wheel.

I just cant help but think the Pirellies would perform better than Walmart (China) or Candian Tire (probably China) tires. The last time I used them was almost 20 years ago, but I remember they had good traction in wet and dry with pretty good life.

so, what do you all think? Pirellis, walmart, or another (cheap) suggestion in 185/65-14 size?
