    Steeda Bumpsteer kit

Can anyone tell me why I would 100% need these on my lowered car?? i don't see the point how they help? I don't want to spend $160 for no different feel/gain.

I know it corrects the front end geometry. But that not a good enough reason for me.

I don't go fast around turns I barley drive the car... sooooo whats the point?

if you have bad bump steer problems you will know it!! if you dont notice it you prob arent that bad off...when i put mine back together you could have wrecked it was so out of control with the 95 spindles

you want the tie rod end close to horizontal so you have maximum travel up and down without exaggerating the angle on the tie rod.... if you smack a bump when you already have an angle on the tie rod it will pull or push youre wheels in and out

Buying them is one thing, but setting them up properly is another...from what I read. MM evens sells this apparatus that bolts to the rotor.

If you don't need them to fix a bump steer problem do not run them. I'm running 6* of caster which according to MM requires manditory attention to bump steer and yet I experience none of it. My car isn't extremely low though since low is not the way to make a strut equiped mustang handle well as it limits camber too much.

Setting them up to the point where 99% of the enthusiast public will be happy with the improvement is not that difficult. To properly bumpsteer a car is very involved, and you almost need coilovers to properly do it, but as I said before, 99% of people will be satisfied with setting the tie rods level with the angle that the a-arm is sitting, not level with the ground. Any mustang lowered more than an inch will have the arm pointed slightly upward. I would much rather see someone purchase the bumpsteer kit than the offset rack bushings. To grossly oversimplify things, all you are trying to do is get the tie rods on the same plane as the path the a-arms are on, which will greatly reduce bumpsteer. With X2 balljoints and 95 spindles the car was undriveable with stock tie rod ends, plus you get the added benefit of a bearing at the end, and toe changes are 10x easier. Benefits outweigh the tiny amount of setup time IMHO...

Although caster mainly controls straight tracking, bump steer (poor tie rod geometry)
can also cause darting over uneven pavement such as crowns and drainage grades on
highways, and braking waves in the pavement at intersections.

The reason increased positive caster can cause bumpsteer problems is because it raises the mounting point of the tie rod end in relation to the rack, just like when you lower a car. The benefits of positive caster far outweight the disadvantages. We really can't get much out of these cars anyway.
