Should the 6al box be making a ticking sound when you put your ear near it??

Maybe the broken wire killed the O2. Try a new one.

    Did you pull the plugs?

I will be installing new o2 sensors tommoro, the plugs are a little rough to get out because of longtubes, but I will try that tommorow also, thanks

If there are no codes then its going to be something simple. Have you tried a coil yet? Checked all grounds? My ground issue I had last year did something similar to what you are having now. When my fan came on it triggered the injectors and everything. Does this happen with the car hot or cold or both? How long after you start the car does it take to happen?

Whats up Rob,, It does it instantly when started, all the way till I shut it off. I am going to eliminate the msd box and try that. I will be checking all the harnesses and grounds thoroughly tommorow. I might throw a new coil in it if this does not work.

Sorry to hear the vert is still giving you fits Jason. On the vacuum lines - did you pull them off and check them closely? They might look fine at first glance, but if you bend them backwards you might find they're dry-rotted and split. Happened to my '87GT convertible and Dad's '57 TBird years ago. Good luck chasing this one down. Keep us posted!

As of today I put stock motorcraft wires on it (took off the taylor 9mm wires) cleanned the salt and pepper connectors, took out the baro sensor and cleanned it and sprayed 3 cans of brake clean on every single hose, gasket and intake. Not sure if this means anything, but i can rev it up in neutral with no stumble, it idles great and wot is perfect no matter what rpm or gear im in, once I back off the throttle from wot, it stumbles like a missfire, or 7 cylinders. Coil was ordered today from summit as well as 02 sensors. Am going to spend the rest of the nite checking and re-doing all the grounds. Let me also add this little bit of info, Right after it started stumbling on the turnpike, we started smelling a terrible smell of rotten eggs. When we got to the hotel, I opened the trunk and smoke poured out from the battery box! My red top battery fried itself and acid ran all over. I purchaced a new battery at autozone and all was well. Not sure if this caused the problem or not but it seems funny that both things happened at the same time.

No cats, I took it down and filled it up with gas and ran the hell out of it. Its great through the gears full throttle, but anything else is crap.

Hey Jason, pull the computer out and call or text me after you open it up. You need a T10 and a 15 I think.

Update: pulled the computer and found a bad ground wire connection. While it was out I checked the board for any sign of failure and all was well. Re installed the computer and still ran like crap. re checked the tps and the voltage was .93 so I bumped it up to .98, and put a new coil on it, still runs like crap!! Sprayed a nother can of aresol on everything, with no luck.

Ground circuits all check out exactly like you said. Spent the nite driving all over trying to find 02 sensors. I found them, installed them and no luck!! Next i'm pulling the headers to get to the rest of the plugs, and replacing them.

I THINK I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rear plug on the pass side was totally full of crud and corrision in the gap. I have never seen anything like it, there is no way spark could have been jumpin across it. The crust is so hard, I cant even clean it off. Ihope this is it! Ill pick up new plugs tommorow, can't wait!!!!

    Jason,

Good speaking with you today! I thought you said you already replaced the plugs? Either way, I wonder why that particular plug is so bad? I think I have a set of new plugs for your application at the shop. I live in Plum so let me know if you want them and they are yours! Good luck either way!
