Anyone going back down this Saturday? I think if the weather holds we are going to try to take both cars again, try for a few more passes before they get put away for the season.

Probably not... lol I ordered the axles today might have them in but I'm not clubbing on the new ones till the Full Tilt Boogie bushings are in.

I'm heading up with my Dad. He wants to see what the Monte Carlo will do in the quarter since the motor is finally broken in. Not sure if I will be running my car or not though.

If the weather is good, I'll likely be out to hang out and see who's car I can assist in breaking next.

Well you can get away with doing like 11.20s in a convertible and no helmet but if you barely crack 12s they will bitch about it.

It bothered me more than the axle snapping, had to be done though. I'll get it buffed out

Yea after my 12.32 pass the guy at the ticket booth told me I need one next time I ran. I agree I should wear one, but don't know what kind I need.

You could probably wear a bowl on your head and he wouldn't care, but I want to say you should make the investment and get a SNELL approved helmet being as any real racing where they tech that shit in calls for a SNELL approved helmet. I use my SNELL approved dirtbike helmet I got for $170 3-4 years ago.

The IHRA rulebook is available for viewing online. Go to:
    http://www.ihra.com/competition/index.php

and at the bottom of the page you'll see the rulebook link.

Go to page 78-79 and you'll see the Sportsman rules. They're listed alphabetically, so you can go right to your ET breakdown and then to "Helmet". You'll see SN95 (Snell 95) or newer is required. Helmet ratings come out every 5 years, and are good for 12 years, generally speaking. Also, NHRA rules don't accept SN95 anymore, in case you go to an NHRA track, like Norwalk or National Trail on occasion. They want 2000 and newer. M rated helmets work, though they are designed differently than the SA helmets. You can get a lot of info on helmets at http://www.smf.org/ . Personally, I believe if you have a 5 cent head, get a cheap helmet. My head and brain are important to me, so I went with an Impact Super Sport. It's a full face helmet, fire resistant liner, wide eyeport (I wear glasses and have no problem with this helmet). I'd rather pay for the protection and never use it, than need it and wish I had.

No experience with spray, but I have inflicted some serious carnage with my turbo. I can't imagine spray being harder on the parts (besides being lean or whatever). In addition to the beating on the driveline, everything is so freaking hot and wants to crack, break, or just plain leak.

Why do I do this again?
