Sorry man, hate to be the bearer of bad news. From the PRP website (this was announced some time ago) ...
Saturday, October 16 - test and tune, and Day at the Races. Gates open at 10am, racing starts at 11am. Test and tune entry $25, spectator entry $7, carload $20. Day at the Races - 2 classes: 10.00 and slower, and 9.99 and quicker. $30 entry, $600 to win, $200 runner up, $75 semis in each class.
I really do not expect three or more runs all day if the weather is nice, but i have been wrong once before ;)
And since I'm going, once you see a Pewter Firebird hand the lady $25 at the gate, there will be an oil down. Happened like 75% of the times I went to PRP this year.
I'll be there Saturday .I picked up a little more horsepower so i want to see what it will do

PRP is not trying to "muddle things up with BS". Rain messed with the Friday Night at the Races a lot this season, so this Saturday's Day at the Races is a make up for those rain outs. There is a requirement to the sponsors of the Night at the Races to be fulfilled; Saturday's race will do that.
I'll respectfully disagree with you Bob. As long as things are kept moving (yeah, I know, big if), I don't see any reason, barring oil downs, to at least get 5 passes if someone is there for the first session at 11am. A lot of people make GGG their last race of the year.
I'll be there Saturday, running 10.00 and slower class of the Day at the Races. I'll also be there Sunday for King of Street. '69 Cutlass, KX05.
There will be a handful of gassers making passes as well. Not sure if it's one day or the other, or both, but they're shooting promotional video. I dig gassers, hope they have a '40 Willys in there.
Brent, sorry I didn't get to talk to you more last weekend. I'll see you up there this weekend. If you're buddies need any help understanding stuff, stop on by.
No problem Chuck, as I said, I hope I'm wrong and have been once before. I would love for this to be the second time this year ;) ... but there are a lot of "if's" in there. (starting on time, no oil downs, gassers not taking up time, etc)
I love the night at the races program (wish they would add a streeet class) and have been at most that did not rain out. Supposed to start at 6:00, two time trials, my typical 1st round loss and I'm done around 11:00 pm. That's three runs in 5 hours, but includes the Pro Mods ... switch out the time for 8-12 pro mods to run with 75+ TnT street cars and I still see three runs for Test and tune unless Greg extends the time (which he has done a lot!).
It's all good Bob. Agreed on the "ifs".... as much as I dig the gassers, I hope they don't take up too much time. Should be no reason not to start on time. 11am is a good start time, plenty of time to get cars in, track prepped, etc. Remember too as the Day at the Races gets thinned out as rounds go by, that will reduce the time that race is taking from the test n tune. I'm thinking if car count is good, Greg will go past the 5pm end as he has before.
By the way, Bob, I want an 11.9x pass, so I'm throwing some jet in, and going to....
give it more RPM! :D
...its totally cool, sounds good! I'll tell ya what since I've been goin to PRP the last few years even just to spectate at certain events like GGG and the CC. I've met more cool down to earth people than I did jammin in bands for over a decade of my life! From meetin u, Claypools, Romeos, Bowmans, Makillups, Cadamore, Balaska, Ross, Greg Miller, Bob, Dean, Larry, Brewer's etc. and dozen's upon dozens of great people/family/Racers! I've felt more welcome their then anywhere. PRP staff does a great job keepin the facility safe and more well maintained then I've ever seen before too! Keep the Drag Racing Scene alive!

Brent, get your dad to bring the '68 Charger up. I'll race it if he won't!! :D But I don't pay for broken parts! lol
I'll be putting it closer to the limiter, but not from the launch. I've debated throwing the cheapie plastic race bucket in, putting on one of the rubber bands (alt/wp belt) I've twanged off, knowing it will fly off, removing every ounce of weight possible, and taking some ExLax... I want an 11.9x!
