looking for 9 more hp

can anybody help me get over 300 rwhp?pulled 291 at streetlethal last week.mods are hitech stage 2 cams ,mac lontubes,vrs o-r xpipe,ud pullys,american thunder catback,k-n fipk,70mm throttle body,trickflow upper,tuned by slp.need 9 more hp.any ideas.bigger throttle body,better mufflers,ac delete?gotta be something out there,thanks richard02 2v 5-speed,4.10s

how much torque and what rpm?

my old 2v car put down 294hp and 314tq at SGS on a dynojet.

I had similar mods. comp cams, u/d pulleys, bbk longtubes, o/r x, magnapack mufflers, mac intake 75mm bbk tb, bbk upper and SGS tune.

I say electric water pump.

If the A/C isnt on, you are not losing anything. Unless the bearings are toast in the compressor.

I remember them changing all the FLUIDS I.E. Engine, trans, and gear oil, over to that Royal Purple Syn. oils.....They claim H.P. gains over conventional Lubes!! Just throwin it out there

install a LS6 motor....ofcourse your only lookin for 9hp, you'd gain lot more then that.

Tell him ~ Show me a 283-305 Chevy with bolt ons that can match my 281 Ford!!!

Remove air filter and uncork your headers should put you over 300 HP.

on my serious note, i would go with either higher flowing mufflers, or I noticed that you changed cams and upper but didn't do anything to the heads. I wonder if a really simple PnP (gasket match and short side radius smoothing) would give you the 7% gain you need for 300.

Don't worry about that magic number or you'll beat yourself up over it.


My 291/330 setup went 12.0's in a fox.......never got 11.9X but had lots of pop'd HG's and broken t-5's....

Don't worry about the #....have fun with it....

but when out on the street with the hood closed.....it won't be what it was on the dyno unless you have a true clod air setup

I'm pretty sure you will dip into the 12's at your power level now with traction and driving. Just hate to see guys get hung up on dyno numbers. Many a 290 rwhp car has taken down a 400 rwhp car with traction and driver problems.
