    Talking '65 Mustang 2V manifold...?

Hi. Just curious if the stock 2V manifold would accept the Autolite 4V carb? If it does, is the switch worth the effort in terms of a gain? I'm still learning about the ol' '65...Thanks

I've seen adapter plates that allow this to be done. Most people will tell you to just get a 4V manifold for it though. Sweet looking car by the way.

The 2bbl intake will not accept a 4 bbl carb. There may be adapter plates available, but I can't imagine that kind of swap would be worth your while.

I don't think you will notice any performance gain if you switch your C-code ( 2 bbl ) intake / carb for a 4 bbl intake and carb. The only thing you'll notice will be a decrease in your gas mileage with the swap. Factory C-code cars were rated at 200 hp and A-codes were rated at 225 hp...not much of a difference.

Your car seems so nice and clean - and stock - so I would recommend keeping it that way, especially if it is an original C-code car. Now, if it is a factory A-code ( 4 bbl ) car, then I would definitely locate a correct factory 4-bbl intake and carb, but otherwise, stock is the way to go.

While I understand (and agree to a point) in what Ron is saying in keeping it stock.....the nice thing about bolt on parts like 4bbl intakes is the stocker can always be put back on at a later time if you wanted to change it back to stock.

Summit carries adapter plates to put a 4bbl carb on a 2bbl intake....however if performance is what you're after, put a 4bbl intake on it.

I would also expect the 4bbl to get slighter better (or the same) fuel mileage as the 2bbl...

Thanks for all the nice compliments! This 4V was just a passing thought. I'm just going to keep the old girl all stock, she is an all original C code. I pulled and gapped the plugs and added a can of Seafoam. These seemed to make a noticeable difference.
