What turbo kit for my 91LX??

I'm thinking about buying a turbo kit for my 91LX Mustang. I'd like to get opinions on what kit's you guys like. Right now I'm leaning towards the PTK single turbo kit. Also what size turbo would you go with?? This car is going to spend time on the street and some Sunday's at the track, so I'd like to limit turbo lag. For now I'm going to run it with the current stock short block with the boost down, but later this year I want to install a Dart based 347 into her and run some higher boost. So what kit would you go with?? Thanks guys!!

Chris, I have the PTK setup for my car. Right now I have a T64E turbo and it'd be great on a 302, but its sort of small for my setup. If I had to guess at a turbo size for you I'd get something in the64-70mm range and keep the exhaust AR ratio at .81 now and switch to a .96 when the stroker comes. I went with a 331 for one and only one reason... I'm running a T4 flanged turbo and when you get into cubes that are any higher back pressure even with a .96 AR housing becomes an issue. It seemed as though if I went with the 363 I planned to build I would have had to run a big turbo with a T6 flange. Most turbo's that are big enough to support these larger cubed motors do not hit their efficiency range until the >12lb range and at the level with 347+cubes a T4 flanged turbo becomes a restriction and the back pressures sky rocket which is VERY bad for performance and the overall health of your shortblock. If it wasn't for these reasons I would have NEVER gone with a 331. Also, when I built the shortblock, I had to assume that I would have to run the T64e than I have now, but I wanted enough cubes so that if and when I put a T76 on it I'd have enough cubes so that it wasn't laggy. I went with 9:1 compression on my shortblock with a 58cc head. I did this because its primarily a street car and a heavy one at that and I wanted a responsive car at all RPM's and I don't want to have to run crazy boost pressures to make the power I'm shooting for. It'll also be NA for a year or so until I can afford the fuel system and such and the 9:1 will help keep it from being a complete dog. I hope this helps you.

I was going to go with a Hellion single 76mm setup befor I decided to put my own kit together and save a few thousand dollars. The difference between the 64-70mm range and the 76mm will only be around 500 rpm with respect to where it will build full boost, so don't think it will be too big for your current setup and it will be one last thing you have to change when you switch to the Dart block.

You may also want to check out B&G Turbo as they make some very nice kits and in my opinion are about the most reasonable priced kits out there. I plan on running their hot side parts on my setup.
