Out with the M3, in with the 5.0

So took my girlfriend's escape in to the dealer for service, and noticed two 5.0's sitting in the lot. They ended up giving me a good number on my M, so I brought the 5.0 home!!!

That's awesome! I definitely didn't expect to see this when I saw 5.0 in the title. Guess we'll all have to get used to the new car's being called 5.0's too. How would you compare it to the M3?

I think it's hard to compare the M to the mustang. Just two different types of cars.

There are a few turns near my house that I usually take at 80 mph in the M, but I don't think the mustang could swing it. The mustang seems really heavy thru the turns...maybe too much roll or something. Flat-out straight line...the thing rips.

    My M was a 2006.

    Must find springs & exhaust.

With .97 lateral G's in the mustang....I vote that it would easily keep up...

    Aren't M's also 3600#?

Without looking up stats, I would think the mustang is actually better in every category, when equipped with 3.73's and the 14" brembo upgrade.

Nice car....I'll be curious to hear of the fuel mileage results in comparison to the M as well.

So where'd you get it? I saw a black 5.0 on the lot at Moon Twp Ford last week - 6 spd - black cloth - stickered around $32k. Any chance that's where you got it? I didn't see it there today when I drove by...

    Congrats on the 5.0!

A friend of mine has an 08 m3 and I have been trying to convince him to go with either a 5.0 or the gt500. he complains that neither of them have enough "status" or "practicality" of course this was someone who was nutting over the GT-R for a year and half until he got the M3 so who knows.

I'll be looking for an update on a comparison between the two cars!
