    Running better...

Turned out to be an ok night lastnight. Traction was average but decent. Trying to figure out why car would not run over 108mph this year. With Bob's post about slipping clutch it put that little hmm in my mind. I backed off the clutch adjustment a good 1 3/4 turns in and car picked up a solid 2mph. Guess I had it all fubar since head swap. Plus ET's came around. Managed a 12.27, 12.22, 12.65(messed 3rd up but pass felt very good, hate wasting a good pass), 12.22 and finally a 12.25 but I let motor get up to 150* at water box. Normally at 130* in water box and staged at 140*

Car seems like it would go 12.teens maybe even 12.0's but with sixities only in the 1.62-1.64 range it wasn't happening. A 1.60 would have netted me a solid mid 12.teen. Need to fine tune suspension more to get sixties into the 1.5's.

Thanks to Bob in water box and for watching what my car is doing at and after launch.

Glad to see you got a handle on it again. For sure there was 12 - teen and even oh's in it with good 60's, just was not going to happen on that track last night. Wasn't terrible, just wasn't a stick shift track either ;)

I loved watching your car grab second gear

Suprisingly saterday it was doing well again. Least once sun went down. Again if I could get traction it would have been solid 12.teens. I might have to go back to a 10" wide slick and intake is going to need changed out for something that is capable of breathing above 6300. Really need to move shift points up to 6800-7000 and be able to launch at around 6800.

Good to hear Ed ... I assume it went a few rounds?

I told you the other night, we should of bolt'ed my 11-50's on there.

I like the way you think, the solution to most issues are indeed more RPM :D

Car doesn't like it when sun is out but just as it starts to set is when it picks up. Least before humidity jumps up with dew point. Managed to improve on 1/8 best with a 7.74@87.67 and best 1/4 post heads with a 12.223@108.30 on a crappy 1.66 sixty. Nothing like running that on a 12.33 dial. Good thing for redlights in other lane

I passed and beeped at you today in New Alex. I was in my red cobra turning into Sheetz.

Humidity always killed my times more-so than heat too.

Sweet Ed ... That's mostly been the issue with my stuff, High 12.20's in the heat / humiidty, then drop to 12-0's when it cools off.

Was the 60' spinning again? Need to get back to good 60's with your stuff.

Spinning, oh yes easily. I tightened up front struts to #3 which seemed to help.

Well the 26x9 slicks were worth trying and now they are coming off. Picked up a set of 27x11.5 Hoosier QTP's(87 1/4" so bit closer to most 28" tires then I wanted but ah well). Now just need to play musical rims. Need these mounted on my 15x10's. Take the MT DR's off the 10's and put them on my 8's. Sell the slicks I have on the 8's

I did replace the front O2 sensors yesterday morning and that seemed to help with car being consistant for once pass to pass. Manged a 12.36@109.5 with a spinning 1.66 sixty leaving at a nice low 5700rpm into the nice headwinds we had yesterday and moist air. Also tried a ram air setup first run and car hated each and every second of it. Ran 12.61@106

Tell me more about these 26X9's you are going to sell. Ask Bobbif they are what I need for mine. Bobs 26X9's got me into the 11's with a 1.50 sixty with a nice low 7000 launch.

I think you will like the quick time pro's as long as you have enough gear to pull them. I know you are going to love the width :)

Nice job Ed, I really liked the QTPs, ran my best with those when it was a NA 302.
What was this ram air failure?

Got 2 runs in before the rain out saterday night.

First pass 15psi decent burnout and left at 6500. Went 1.65 with some spinning.

Next pass with the question of my pressure gauge being good. I used Balaska's and mine was showing 3psi less then his. So set tires to 15psi off his gauge. Dropped launch rpm 300 and spun pretty good with a 1.72 So I'm going to stick with my gauge and play around with these on thursday. Car did seem to like the tires. Just need to find the pressure that will work.

Ed - It always seemed like the QTP's take a few passes to fall in line. Also, I generally work 11.5 to 13 max off my gauge.
