Sunday 3/11/07 Ride Info!

Okay guys here is the info.

We are going here: http://www.oaktreesportsmenclub.com/ on this coming sunday. It costs $10 per rider for all day.

So far there are 4-5 of us from my work and a couple more local guys. The more the merrier so come riding with us!

We are meeting at 9am(sharp!) on RT30 near Clinton / Racoon Twp.

EDIT: We are meeting at DJ's Quick Stop Deli on the left as you go down RT30 past Janoski's Farm Market in Clinton. Once you down the hill and it levels off it's on the left side. Park in the gravel lot just near the deli. Be there at 9am (NEW TIME)<- Be sure to set your clock forward on saturday night so you are not late as we aren't going to wait forever for you!

It should be 45 min or so ride from where we are going to meet up.

Well, we survived today!

It was a little interesting starting with me having a small particle of dirt get into my carb and the quad refused to go over 1/4 throttle. Thanks to Dave for figuring that one out! I have already replaced that K&N filter with the Twin foam one that I have been looking at on my work bench daily. It was almost a real bad day for me. K&N's may have their place but an ATV isn't it as far as I am concerned now.

We had some other interesting stuff happen as well.

Joe (9002stang) wanted to see how well his quad rolls down hill and Bill joined in the fun as he tried to avoid a 400+# quad heading straight down the hill at him!

Bills quad suffered some pretty bad damage but he was able to limp it home in one or two pieces. lol

After all this excitement Robert decided to see if his Honda rolled as well as the other guys' machines. He had some sort of mechanical failure 3/4 way up the hill and he lost it and down it came. We are all at the bottom at this point and he yelled look out! We all scrambled to try to catch/stop his quad before it hit into several others at the bottom. Let me tell ya, you haven't lived until you have run TOWARDS a quad coming down a big hill at you! We got it stopped and tried to straighten his quads bent up parts.

After all this we decided to try to get the injured quads back to the trucks and call it a day.

All in all it was fun as hell, all things considered and we are going back for sure! :D

Hey Mark, glad you had a good time. If you go next week, I'll go for sure. The pain in my ass is going away. In all seriousnes, if you did say a prayer, it worked!!! I owe my life to you. How far did you guys get? You make it down to scooby doo? Its along the power line. Some awesome hillclimbs. When you come out of oak tree and head down to the creek, did you go right? There are some good climbs that way also.

Glad that you are feeling better! Yep, I did say a prayer. I take that stuff very seriously.

We were all over the place today and I don't know all the names of the hills but they have some pretty high and nasty ones that's for sure! We need you to guide us the place is huge and we didn't see nearly half of what is there with all the problems we had. Next time you can be the tour guide. LOL

I don't know if we are going there next weekend but we are probably going to go riding some place. I will keep ya posted.
