You can get a spring comp. at an auto parts store fairly cheap, why struggle with it? I got my cobra springs on without one, but every car is different..

Maximum motorsports sells a little tab that bolts to the lower control arm that holds the spring in the lower spring pocket so you can just jack the lower and the springwont keep poping out. Or, get the internal spring compresser from the parts store compress the spring get it in the car, jack the lower up to hold it in. once the lower is jacked up with the spring in place knock the pins out that hold the compressor arms to the screw part then pull the compressor out the hole in the bottom. Hope this helps.

I didn't use a spring compressor because I couldn't find one that worked well enough to allow for the spring install without dropping the lower control arm. I eventually just dropped the lower control arm, put in the spring and used two floor jacks to push it back up into to place until I could bolt it back in. There's a few write-ups on Corral that gives the details.

It's a bit of the pain in the ass the first time you do it, but I'd do it again knowing now how to get it done.

There is no need for a spring compressor to install lowering springs. As long as you have the strut and tie rod end disconected from the spindle, as well as the sway bar disconected from the end link, all you need is a pry bar to romove the oem springs. Depending on the lowering springs being installed, they will go in by hand or with very little effort via the pry bar.

+1 Don't waste your money on a spring compressor. I've done spring installs on about 5 Cobras and never used one.

thanks for your input everyone...i rented a spring compressor from advance and wasnt able to use it because it kept hitting the kmember and while trying to push the spring into place....eventually was able to pry it in after working on it for a whole day. it kept popping out of the control arm. never doing that again LOL

Don't matter, I never do. You can also delete the isolaters for more of a drop. We do that for customers quite often...

I have done this on a couple of my personal cars without any ride or noise issues. None of my customers that have had me delete the isolators have ever complained or had issues that I am aware of.

The regular and lowering springs are not to bad at all. The drag launch spring kits can be a little tricky!
