My grandfather is the head of verizon claims dept. and he told me last year that by june of this year the iphone would be avail. for verizon. Never happened now he says they will most likely NEVER get it.

So the "rumors" are just that.

Nonsense. The iPhone 4 is the benchmark.

The i4 screen / graphics alone blows away the droid.

Anytime you want to play with it you can. The 4G stuff is sort of BS too. THere is extreme minimal 4GT coverage in the area if any at all. The iPhone reverts back to 3G when 4G isnt available. Which is almost always. Even using the Droid as a Hotspot, its amazingly fast. Honestly, its as fast as my home with fios.

Your droid's 3G connection is not as fast as your FIOS connection, You must do VERY light web browsing and downloading if you can even think about saying that.

I have played with enough Android powered phones, I know they are nice and I know they are fast but to say something like

Not trying to cause a stink. The iPhone 4 also has more ram and a faster
processor than the iPhone 3Gs or the Droid. So even with a 3G connection
it will run most apps faster, including web browsers. It also has a sharper
and faster video / graphics processor than before.

wow... we're bench racing phones now

FWIW the HTC EVO will most likely be my next phone when sprint gets 4G in Pittsburgh. I got the Palm Pre now and I like it for the most part. Got it hacked so I can use it as a mobile hotspot without paying the extra fee

HAHAHAHA Bench racing, I love it.

Tell you what, I dont give a shit. SCS is just as fast if not faster on my X as it is at home. Corral, still a slow site but fast on my phone. Whenever you want to come down and try it out, feel free. Mind you, I have shitty reception at work too. And no, its not on a WiFi network at work either. You have to try it to believe it. I dont bullshit or tell stories just to sell phones. I know whats good. I cant complain at all. Bish can chime in on this too.

Thats fine, but an Android phone doesn't magically make Verizon's 3G Service any faster.

    http://content.usatoday.com/communit...ormance-test/1

    http://connectedplanetonline.com/3g4...-verizon-1204/

Both 3G networks are comparable at best to DSL speeds from years ago, have nowhere near the throughput of a modern Cable or FIOS connection and the latency is laughable but acceptable for what people use mobile phones for. While loading a forum might not show a huge difference, try downloading large files.

I cant remember everything about it but my neighbor has the Droid incredible, its much slower than my X. I know the processor is good and it has something like 8G internal with an expandable 32G drive. What would you consider a large file?

As far as the home internet speed, I've been using my cell phone with a tethered/wifi connection for my home internet for the past 4 1/2 years. I'm sure it's not as fast as the standard comcast or fios connections, but I'm cheap and honestly I don't really care. I rarely dl anything larger than a song which with the cell phone connection is usually done in less than a minute.

I started off doing this with my Motorola Q, and now I'm doing it with my Palm Pre. I will say that the Pre is faster and since they're on the same network, I'd imagine it has to do with the processor in the phone. I've seen dl speeds up to 150k/sec on limewire with the Pre which I think isn't to bad for a non-wired connection
