    Trick Flow Pistions

    Has anyone ran these? I was going to build a new motor and the rest of my stuff is TFS, why not matching pistions! I cant find any reviews. I dont want to put KB pistions in this one...

    I don't run them, but they seem like a good choice. Only reason I didn't get them is because they were a little more expensive than others I was looking at. One nice thing about them is that they're a little higher compression than most other off the shelf pistons out there at 10:1.     Those are great pistons! The TFS pistions are cut for my heads....emmm a lot of lift!

    Only negative aspect of them is their portly weight. Can't remember the exact weight though. I *think* they are in the 550g+.

    I weighed those DSS ones and I'm pretty sure they were 200 grams lighter than stock and that was the cheaper ones. I'm sure the more expensive ones are even lighter.

    The TFS pistons used to be made by Arias. Not sure these days. Another good option is the Diamond TW specific piston. I wanted a flat-top with the correct notch for my 331. Nice pistons. www.diamondracing.net They have an online catalog.

    Another option is the Probe racing pistons. They're a little less costly & can be ordered with a second notch for the TW intake valve.

    These are both good forged pistons. I have some pics of my diamond pistons if your're interested.

    Well, I dont know if I am going to with an aftermarket 302 or build a 9.5" based block. Either way, I want to build a nasty No2 Motor. I have never played with N02.

    I have a friend that just piked up an all-forged low compression 427 (4.125" bore & 4" stroke) 9.5" dart block from Coast High Performance for under $5000. The 427 sbf is a great motor with decent compression height piston that allows enough room for a stout ring package. FWIW, I would stay a 4.1" or less with a N2O motor. BTW, a 4.1" stroke combined with a 4.125" bore yeild a 438" motor. You'd need to top that motor with a stout head like a AFR 225, CHI 225 or maybe a set of Victor Sr's for serious power.

    Set a goal & a budget. I like spending other people's money. Is this a street, street/strip or all-out race car?
