    New Shoes

Finally got tired of the winter tire look on my Capri when I had real street tires on there and picked up a set of Nitto's for driver use.

    They are 275/50-15

It's like a freaking wheel and tire shop around here ... wheels for street tires, wheels with slicks, wheel with DOT's ... LOL, at least I have a set of tires for whatever comes up :D

This is the picture that pushed me over the edge. Look like Mud and snow tires (These was 245/60-15's)

you ought to like those, they're pretty good for a street tire! Definitely look good with the big tread blocks too :)

I had those on my car, loved the performance from them. It really made the car stick and they were 17" 245 45. I bet they will work out great in a 15"

They didnt wear worth a shit though.......I bet 3000 miles saw the end of them with no passes/burnouts. But I guess thats not what you buy them for

Thanks - no plans to race on these ... ever, so it's definately the look I was after. Yeah, the big blocks will look better than the all terrains I had on there ;)

It's funny, I really never get on this car on the street so it's more a look thing. These, or the BFG drag radial was about the only option in a 275/50/15 ... amazing how hard it is getting to find choices in 15's these days. I've heard these wear better than the BFG's (and I wasn't after hook or would have got the MT's).

I ran these on stock rims on my Stang for a little over 3 years doin standing still burnouts on them at the FLD's and PRP and still got like 75% tread life on'em now. They hook well even on the street not heatin them up, good choice! I haven't tested them in the rain thou, nor would I really recommend it.

Well ... Ed's car and my junk are usually pretty equal as far as what works and the 275/60 ET Street radials didn't hook on his car, i'm not even going t otry the Nitto's ;)

Well, they have to be better than my Slicks or Quick Time Pro's and i've been caught in the rain on both of them. They will end up in the rain sooner or later so we will see.

I got caught in the rain once in my cobra with them....they aren't bad. Predictable for sure. And traction isn't too too bad. 2nd gear hooks fairly solid for me when they are warm.

I really do have a problem ... I'm not sure if there is a support group or 12 steps or something ...

    Left to right:

Nitto 275/50/15's on Summit cast wheels - Street tires
Hoosier 26-9.0-15 Slick on ProStars - Screwed, tubed, regular race
Hoosier 26-10.50-15 Quick time Pro on ProStars - DOT race tire.

First step in the healing process is donate part of your collection to a worthy person as myself. Then we can talk about it!
