Amazing show today at the PVGP. Weather was crazy hot, but not a drop of rain!!Saw Mr. and Mrs. Intel in their Capri. Nice friends you guys had with ya! An original 289 Cobra was there, tons of nice Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Mopars, a beautiful customized Chrysler Airflow, several really nice military jeeps, and the list went on and on. And that was just the American showfield.
There was also a really amazing tent of Yenko Camaros, Corvairs, Novas, Chevelles, and Corvettes.
We're doing it again tomorrow ( Sunday ). You guys really don't know what you're missing!! You should come out and check out the great cars and vintage racing!

I was there today as well. Very nice! The heat played havoc though... Pushing 100 and standing on a golf course was tough. Enjoyed some of the races in the shade... Tomorrow should be a little better... not as hot... so they say.

For those of you who don't know much about it, it's a pretty big world-class event in the auto world. Not only is it America’s largest vintage auto racing event, it's the only one run on city streets. Additionally, with the international car show on the golf course surrounding the races, it's the only one of it's kind in the world. Approximately 250,000 people attend. (many from Europe and other parts of the world) I've been going since 1985. It's a free event for charity run by 1200 volunteers.
Here is a cool map showing the details of the track and surroundings...

Here is one of the many videos on YouTube from a drivers perspective. It's definitely the most dangerous track on the circuit with stone walls, curbs, track-side trees, blind corners, etc...

Thanks for the kind words Brian. It was great to see you and your wife & friends ( and the Capri - SWEEET!! ) at the show. It really is a great event. I wish I had more time to enjoy the show - most of the time I'm running the American show on that golf cart. But it is all worth it - the charities get a nice chunk of change and we get to enjoy a great event.
And you're right about the race course. The guys that race in Schenley really are something - that's one tough course to handle, especially in REALLY old cars on REALLY skinny tires!!
