Where to buy a small aluminum pipe??

I need a small peice of aluminum pipe to weld onto my supercharger discharge pipe for the bypass valve. Like 7/8" diameter and about 2-3 inches long. I went to lowes, do it best hardware, busy beaver, nothing.


I found a place online and they had what I needed. I went to check out and the shipping was 12 dollars for a 3 inch long pipe so screw that.

Where can I get something that will work?

Call Multi Metals up on old route 66 near Delmont. Technically, you could call Jeannette Steel, but they will send you to MiltiMetals ;)

I've got an assortment of aluminum pipe (tube), but nothing that small.

worst case, get online at McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com) It comes out of Cleveland and will be here next day. They only charge the "real" shipping price. They are industrial supply, but will take a credit card on line.

One other thought ... you say about welding to your discharge pipe, but is there a coupling "nearby" ? These are slicker than heck for adding a bypass / blow off as you can adjust it where you like and not have to worry about geting the angle right.

You can also just drill a hole in the pipe. slip the coupler over the entire pipe, clamp in place and not even have a joint under the "tee". Just another option if I understand what you are doing.

I've looked at those couplers but I only have 2 connections:

-supercharger to pipe
-pipe to TB

Drilling a hole isnt a bad idea though. I'm going to get on that site and try that but if not, drilling a hole is a good reserve plan.
