Dave reid and I just did a 2010 GT500 two nites ago. The stock gears had gear whine up top. When we were done no noise at all. The Ford Rotunda tool is the only way to go in conjunction with a good dial indicator.
Ever since Ford went to the 3 link in the s197 cars there have been a lot of gear noise and vibration issues from the factory. I do have the 205-S127 essential tool service kit along with many rear end specific tools. It's not full proof like I had hoped it would be, but there are just too many variables to consider for one to hope that every gear job would be easy because of one tool. Thats why I have to laugh at some of the comments that have been made in this thread. The number of gear jobs I have done is somewhere in the 3 digit range and I still come across stuff that just makes me lose my mind I can count on 1 or maybe 2 hands how many sets went right in without an adjustment!
