    Steel Valley Dragway

I got a call from the owner of Steel Valley Dragway today. I was in the middle of something at work, so I was only half listening. He mentioned something about an FLD type race this weekend with a $400.00 prize for the overall winner. Anybody else know anything, get a similar call today, or interested? I haven't been there this year, but I like that little track.

I just spoke to Keith's wife, from Steel Valley Dragway. It is Saturday the 7th. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and racing starts at 11:00 a.m. It is a street car challenge using the timing system and lights. $10.00 entry fee. $400.00 for the winner, $150.00 runner up and $40.00 for two semi finalists. I know I won't win the money, but it will be fun anyway. The track's phone number is (740) 733-7100. Maybe we can get some guys out there for some 1/8th mile racing.

You should go Brent, it's a nice little track. Nice people too. I like PRP too, but Steel Valley seems a little more personal.

There was a pretty good turnout Saturday. Got seven runs in. Still spinning all the way through first gear on drag radials. I guess their track prep isn't quite as good as PRP's, but still had a good day.

    Happy birthday!

I couldn't make it either, but on Sunday I went to the Cruisin' Few's QCR track rental, which was a blast. Very well organized, got at least 15 runs in and could have gotten a lot more.

I wasn't familiar with Steel Valley Dragaway so I had to look it up.
It's about the same distance (for us in north-central WV) as Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown, MD, which is a NICE 1/4 mile track.
It's a lower elevation track than PRP and with better track prep.
I've always run faster as Mason Dixon than PRP. Might be worth the drive in your hunt for 12s.

Thanks for the info. I have been wanting to go to this track for some time now. I think it's about a three hour drive from Morgantown.
