    Rise of the Phoenix

A while back I got in an accident and fortunately through this forum, I was introduced to Terry at Street Lethal Perfomance. He fixed my car up pretty good. I also was able to keep a clean title.

    Here are some before pictures...http://www.steelcitystangs.com/forum...ad.php?t=17784

While at the shop, I had Terry put in LT headers, poly motor mounts and he also painted the headlight buckets to match the body color. I haven't seen that much before, but did like it when I saw it. I was also able to find a CDC/Foose hood for cheaper than a stock hood. Both are all aluminum, so I could not pass it up.

This is before I changed the grill/chin back to my modified version...

With the CDC/Foose hood, there is no trim ring needed:

I was able to get the chin and grill back the way I like it with a '69 repro grill emblem.

As a comparison, I had an old picture without the hood and painted light buckets, and re-took the same shot now for comparison. The hood does not show up as well, but the light buckets do. There was different light, so I could not match the colors between the pictures.

Those look to be Silver Horse Racing louvers...or known as SHR.

Class company, quality products. I have some of their billet stuff.

I like the stock hood myself, maybe because I have only seen the CDC/Foose hood once in person and didn't really consider it...but still a nice looking car...you really have a nice theme going on there.

I remember when you first posted pics of your car way back when...made me want an S197...look at me know! :)

Yes, they are SHR. Just like the scoop, I wanted a real piece, not tape on. Makes for a much better appearance.

Thanks, it has been a long journey (almost 6 years). That is one of the reasons I hated giving up on it.

You are right, I have not seen many of these hoods around. I loved the retro look and jumped in without seeing one in person, only two pictures from the forums.

Like the hood, I have only seen a couple cars with it. I heard it was a pain in the ass, but since it was at Terry's I figured I would let him do it instead of trying it myself. I am pretty happy that I did.

Thanks, tastefully classic. I always wanted an older mustang, but I am happy with making a newer one look older (style-wise).
