A 1964 Fairlane 500 Hauls Ass on the 'Ring

American Thunder Video: A 1964 Fairlane 500 Hauls Ass on the 'RingBy Brian Lohnes Posted 08/04/10

This is some of the greatest footage we've ever seen. This is video of a (modern) Holman Moody built 1964 Fairlane 500 being raced in Germany on the famed Nurburgring. It is in some sort of historic event that this bad Larry swallows the other cars whole. Totally hilarious to see it peeling the paint off the sides of Fiats, Porsches, and other small Euro-mobiles.
This car is packing a 427, an aluminum Top Loader transmission, and 'glass doors and fenders. The motor obviously has lots of guts. You'll see and hear this monster coming out of the corners, and it just wants to run!

Wow. That thing is a bit of an overdog in that crowd I'd say. A bunch of slow vintage cars it looked like to me. I've read about that car before, it is pretty sick. Guy wasn't even pushing it.

WOW!!! He hit 220 mph + on a couple of the straights in a car with the aerodynamics of brick. That thing makes some serious power. I wonder if it has a 427 SOHC engine in it?
