Woodward Dream Cruise, Detroit, Mi 8/21/10

It's time again, a bunch of us will be rolling out from the Cleveland area on Friday around noon, always a good time, over 50,000 cars and over 1 million people, and 1000's of Mustangs.....

Traveling from PGH to Akron on Thursday night then rolling with a bunch of goats Friday morning... This is my first time going, should be a good time!

Wife and I are thinking on heading up. I've never been there either and have always wanted to go. I think we will find a hotel about an hour south and spend Friday and Sat. night

You can get a hotel closer than that, if you want.Some are staying in Southfield, and Troy.You will really enjoy the event.

We are Staying at Best Western in Allen Park, Mich. Its about a half hour south. Now i just have to figure out if i want to take the Cobra, or the GN.

my advice to you -

if you plan to cruise woodward there is a ton of traffic and you will be stopping and starting for hours to make the whole length - take the GN

but you can park the cobra at mustang alley, so its up to you

Thanks PJ. I think we will leave our hotel early in the morn. and head up to Woodward to Mustang Alley and park. I hate to sit in traffic.

you dont have to drive the entire lenght, we cruise early morning which less crowded, if you hit too bad of traffic, just turn, the streets are set up nice, its hard to get lost, all the "mile" streets make it easy to get back to Woodward at anytime, we hang at mustang alley for a good while, then we've got a spot to post up with off Woodward parking, bust out the camping chairs and cameras, and let the show come to us for a while, maybe cruise more in the evening, we hang around 16 mile road, its less crowded down there but not much, but its easy bail back to our hotel from there too, its a great time no matter what you do

Did anyone end up staying in the rain. Luckily we went over on Fri. night and came home Sat. morning, the way the radar lokked, didn't seem worth it.

Yeah the rain let up around 6pm or so and was nice the rest of the cruise. Saw your car in a parking lot on the way to our hotel. Looked good.

Yeah wife and i got there at 8am and the rain started. Got pissed off at the rain at around 2pm and left. Hope to go back next year and see more and have less rain.
