    1999 - 2004 Front Calipers on a SN-95?

I was recently talking to someone about retrofitting dual piston PBR calipers on the front of a single piston SN-95 brake setup. This said he used the dual piston calipers from 1999-2004 GT because they are very light, like 2lbs. He said it is made of aluminum and a direct bolt on. At the time I figured he might be BS’ing me. However, I now need to help a friend replace the front brakes on his 95 Mustang. So, is there any truth to this swap? A quick Google search did not turn up much.

Yes they are aluminum and extremely light. 2lbs may be on the heavy side for the calipers. Unless the spindles are the same I can't see how swapping 99-04 front brakes onto an earlier Sn-95 can be a direct swap. If swapping entire assemblies, spindle and all then yes direct swap.

Yes you can swap them onto sn95 spindles but the spindles will need to be modified slightly. This link explains how http://home.comcast.net/~mjbobbitt/mustang/page14.html

I have them on my '95 and as was said the spindle needs very minor trimming, and I mean minor. The weight savings is VERY minimal despite going with the aluminum caliper. I'll have to check but if memory serves me right I only saved like 4lbs total, and I weighed everything from the calipers, pads, etc. I did it for the weight savings and it wasn't anywhere near what I had heard and hoped for.
