Man, we are getting beat up.
I loved when Troy intercepted the ball at the end of the game and threw it, Dick Le Beau's reaction. I couldn't tell if Troy meant to throw it or if the way he was hit made it pop out?

That'd be nice...but it won't happen.
Another game where AT LEAST 3 calls were not made against the opposition for late / illegal hits on Ben. The officiating is horrific. At some point the officials will adversely affect a game for us. Today was a mix - one very late hit ( 2.5 defender steps after Ben threw the ball ), one knee to the head, and one hit to the head. Disgusting is the only word that truly fits.
But the defense was spectacular today. Troy, Lamar, and the rest of the D absolutely shut down the Bengals. Benson - 9 carries for 18 yards. 3 pics of Palmer. Wow.
Suisham was money - again. What a great pickup he has been so far.
Our offense was not spectacular, but still played a good game. Lots of holding penalties though. ( How many were called against the Bengals? ) Still, the offense overcame a bunch of penalties and converted lots of 3rd downs. Mendenhall ran really hard. Hines was solid today. Wallace is putting fear in the hearts of defenses everywhere. How about RandleEl's catch? O-line gave up some sacks, but they're playing just good enough to get the job done. I'm not writing them off - they have a lot of heart.
Troy is such a stud - I hope his achilles is ok. He was limping badly every play after he returned the int for a touchdown.
So we're 10-3 and here come the Jets. Hopefully we can keep this train rolling next week.
C'mon Texans!! Whoop the Ravens tomorrow night!!

our offense is terrible...hands down... they said during the game almost 30 offensive drives and we only got into the endzone on two of them...that just plain sucks. and obviously it is bruce arians bullshit calls. we have a great quarterback, great recievers, great running backs, and an OK offensive line.
we will not go anywhere in the playoffs with the defensive carrying the entire team every game. it may work against the shitty bengals but not against the patriots, jets, or ravens if we see them again in the playoffs
We need to be 110% going into the playoffs or we wont have a chance.

Good thing the defense was awake during the game since they actually scored these things called touchdowns! The games arent that great but considering all the injuries, especially to Big Ben, i'd say were doing pretty good

Also Troy was hobbling a lot, I think they should have pulled him in the 4th. Cant risk at this point any injuries that would effect post season play. Got to give it to Ben, he took a beating the last couple weeks. Heath being out showed in my opinion, as well as the other vets that are out.

Once we were up by 3 scores, none of the starters should have been in. If we had an offensive line, Ben would be unbelievable. The guy makes half his plays after escaping 2 guys that had a sack on him. The O line is a joke. At least we didn't have to see our corners getting smoked again today.
All year this team has been finding ways to win while key players have been out of the lineup. First - Colon goes down for the year. Ben out for 4 games. Aaron Smith - you can't forget about him - he's an absolute stud on our defense, and he has been gone for the majority of this season. Hopefully he will be back come playoff time. We're leading the league in rushing yards allowed - without Smith. Keisel was out for a few games. Max Starks - out for the year. The list goes on and on.
Lots of guys are playing while banged up. Flozell - sucked it up and played today with the bad ankle. Troy has been nursing the achilles all year. Then there's Ben. His performance the last 2 weeks, in my opinion, has been gutsy and fantastic. I realize the offense didn't light it up today as far as scoring points is concerned. But we won the time of possession battle. Knock our secondary all you want - but TO had one catch early and didn't grab another for the rest of the game. We converted 3rd downs despite penalties - lots of them. Ben put the ball where only our receivers could catch it, and they made nice ( sometimes GREAT ) plays to hang on. Mendenhall ran VERY hard all day, and while he didn't score or get 100 yards, he broke a lot of tackles, made a lot of guys miss, and gave 110% effort on every run. He took a lot of good hits, and I didn't see him bobble the ball once - on a pretty wet and cold day - against a very physical run defense.
Guys - every week isn't going to be a textbook dismantling of the other team. This is the NFL, and every team is stacked with fantastic athletes. The difference between winning and losing is a fine line. Sure, the Patriots look like, and are, a fantastic team. They are on a roll right now. But don't forget - they got their butts whipped by the Browns not too long ago. It happens. So when we beat the Bengals 23-7, it is a good win. Don't forget, our QB still has a broken foot and a broken and a nose that was surgically repaired 6 days ago.
My point - we're winning - we're healing - and we're getting better every week. It is mid-December and we're 10-3, and the #2 seed in the AFC. Not bad if you ask me, all things considered.
So let the Patriots keep on rolling. Next week they face a Green Bay team without a QB. Expect the Pats to roll again. To me, the whole thing sounds familiar - a tough, physical team will ( hopefully ) take them out come playoff time. Maybe the Ravens. Maybe the Jets. Maybe the Steelers. Let's see how it turns out.

Just how badly do you have to beat a team for it to be considered a solid effort? We didn't turn the ball over. We tortured Palmer, baiting him into 3 pics, and returned 2 of them for touchdowns. We converted 3 of 3 field goals in rainy windy conditions. Ben threw for over 250 yards being far from 100% physically. Hines had over 100 yards. Wallace had a bunch of catches. We held Benson to 18 yards. We held the ball for 22 minutes in the second half. AFC North divisional games are always tight. Blowouts are very rare. The teams are all very physical - moreso than any other division. Just hang in there - these are good wins we're getting. And the fact that they played this well and this physical - one week after an incredibly emotional and physically demanding game against Baltimore speaks volumes of the effort we're seeing from this team. There is a lot to be said for being mentally tough, and that is what this team is.
Keep the faith. We might not be the best in the league right NOW, but we're not far from it.

They just took the lead (20/17) 4th 10 min to go.
We need to pressure the QB more, all out.
