My Car and Vintage WWII Aircraft

The other weekend I heard about two WWII aircraft coming to Pittsburgh. I was hoping for a third (a P-51 Mustang), but it had mechanical problems. Long story short, I got to fly in one of the aircraft. Afterwards I was talking with one of the pilots and asked if I could pull my car around and take some pictures. He was fine with the idea if the airport let me bring my car on the tarmac. So I asked and sure enough, they said it was fine by them.

Holy Cow, I never thought they would say yes. I was already grinning from ear to ear from flying the AT-6 Texan and now I got to experience a second 'once in a lifetime opportunity.' I pulled my car on the tarmac and only got one shot with the Texan, but the B-25 was stationary for longer so I had more time to take shots. The owners said if they bring the P-51 back in the area, they would let me know so I can get more shots with that plane too.

    How cool!

Thanks. When I asked, I fully expected to hear a 'no' response. But figured I would never know unless I ask.

The 5th picture down is one I like the most as well.

    Great idea and awesome pics!

I love the look of your car. It is like you pulled a '69 Mach I thru a time machine while thinking about a S197.

Keep the stance of your car just like it is now. The non-lowered stance looks great combined with the retro look of the hood and rims.

Thanks, that was the goal, to keep it as much as a retro Mach 1 as possible. I would like to lower it, but I'm not too worried about it. With the roads around here, I have already scraped the chin before and would rather not again. So I am keeping it the height it is and I do like it as is.
