Hey guys - there's a Studebaker cruise at Summit on Saturday, August 28th. I know there aren't many Stude fans on the board, but I'm hoping to follow my Dad out there in his '63 R2 Avanti. I'm looking forward to visiting the Summit store - and maybe come home with some goodies for the Mustang!!

Cool....Havent heard about this cruise yet! My mothers maiden name is Studebaker !!! My grandfather is a direct decendant of the four brothers that started making the wagons and eventually cars. All my uncles had daughters except one uncle had one son, so I gave my oldest son a middle name of Studebaker. We have had many cool old studes including a 1963 Gran Turismo Hawk in gold with red guts,289 4bl 4spd twin trac With 18,000 original miles. I am currently looking for a 49-52 truck, or a hawk If you know of any ?
One of the guys going with us to the Stude show is a Studebaker guru. He restored my Dad's Avanti and tons of other Studebaker models over the last few decades. He might know of a truck out there for ya.
Holy low miles Batman - that GT Hawk sounds like a nice piece! My father-in-law has a '63 GT Hawk - black with red interior - 289 4bbl - 3 speed on the tree with overdrive. It is silly straight and really clean. I don't think he can make it to that show. He also has a '48 Commander convertible that is midway thru the restoration. He will be at the show on Sunday at Moon Park though, with my Dad, myself, and a bunch of other folks.
If you make it to the Summit show, stop by and say hi - we'll be near Dad's car - sunburst gold '63 R2 Avanti with a 4-speed, Dayton wire wheels, and PA antique plates.

Cool... my dad has a 47 M5. I tried to get him to go out there last year and didn't have much luck and I doubt it would be any different this year, but I'm going to let him know. Here is a pic of his truck. It came from Colorado and is super solid. Has a 350 combo and gets attention everywhere. My dad has had alot of cool rides over the years, but he says this is one of his favorites.
I saw your dads truck at the stock car museum show in osceola mills, and ya its super cool !!
