    A little head

    It will be a while before I get to getting this installed, but I could NOT pass up the deal ...




    I knew my current head wasn't optimum, but I didn't realize how big of a piece of crap it was until I got my hands on this :D No ... there will not be any detailed port pics.

    There is likely not another iron 2.3 head out there that flows like this one (except the guys that cut out the ports and replace with pipe) ... We will see if it makes power to match.

    These are intake flow numbers. My current cam is .550 lift ;) There are numbers beyond that for this head, but I was sworn not to discuss them ;)

    To put these in perspective, up to .500 lift, this head out flow Esslingers bad ass Aluminum ARCA head with complete new design ports requiring completely custom manifolds. The ports on those heads look like BBC rectangular ports to get these kind of flows.

    Well, since my hot side needs to come appart to fix my POS header ... That's about 1/3rd the way to swapping heads, so i'm going ot have at it over the weekend. I'm going to have to walk carefully on the stock short block, but I might as well work on the tune for this flow over the rest of the year, even if I need to cut the boost back for a while ...

    None ... because my boost control is either off the gate spring, or off my controller using closed loop control. In either case, it will go back to the same place. The AMS 500 has a built in MAP sensor that measures the boost pressure thn does whatever it needs to do to hit the set point.

    The first answer to the flow change will be in my VE tables for sure.
