They didn't know he didn't have it on him till after we were out of the truck. That is my only complaint in this thread.

Im all for safety for you guys but just think this situation was handled poorly. Maybe I missed something and should have asked them some questions afterwards but the whole process was a little overwealming to me and it was 3:30 am. This thread was not started to bash anyone and I was hoping a few people like you would chime in and enlighten me instead of taking shots.

3:30 in the morning. Guy has 2 firearms and a knife on him.

    No permit with him.

It should be no surprise that you could get pulled out of the vehicle.

If you take you buddies out make sure they carry thier permit.

I like how the one lady stated that he never carries his permit on him.

Yes sir. Like I said, it just bothered me that the permit was not the original reason we were pulled. We were pulled for aknowledging weapons in the car, no questions asked.

My permit stays in my wallet next to my drivers license. The first words out of my mouth would have been "I have a carry permit.... I have a pistol"

I can understand that. I didn't hear what was said to you intially.

If I ask you to please show me your permit then.

Remember it is dark outside. You start reaching around in your pants.

Wouldn't it be easier & safer for everyone to get you outta the truck and do it ?

You show me your permit, I check the gun, you are back on your way in 5 min.

    It is police work.

There are no problems with that.

I encounter people all the time on stops with "legal" weapons.

    No big deal.

    BS

The issue in the entire thread is that you guys were pulled out.

Meanwhile you never told anyone he didn;t have a permit on him.

Nice try trying to change this around.

Why would it be necessary to check the gun?

I rarely check a gun though. Only is odd situations.

If they have a valid permit on a traffic stop that is all I need.

I have no problem working with you or your people and don't envy your job. You have to cover your ass at all times. It just bothers me to have been treated the way we did. I had the windows down, licence out, didn't drink and drive, told the truth about the weapons, it went bad after that.
