They didn't know he didn't have it on him till after we were out of the truck. That is my only complaint in this thread.

It should be no surprise that you could get pulled out of the vehicle.

If you take you buddies out make sure they carry thier permit.

Yes sir. Like I said, it just bothered me that the permit was not the original reason we were pulled. We were pulled for aknowledging weapons in the car, no questions asked.

My permit stays in my wallet next to my drivers license. The first words out of my mouth would have been "I have a carry permit.... I have a pistol"

I have no idea of this, he said he left it in his truck and he has one and his stuff was legal other than no permit. You avoiding the issue I had.

If I ask you to please show me your permit then.

Remember it is dark outside. You start reaching around in your pants.

Wouldn't it be easier & safer for everyone to get you outta the truck and do it ?

You show me your permit, I check the gun, you are back on your way in 5 min.

It is police work.

There are no problems with that.

I encounter people all the time on stops with "legal" weapons.

No big deal.

I rarely check a gun though. Only is odd situations.

If they have a valid permit on a traffic stop that is all I need.

No lock, my original issue had nothing to do with checking the guns or him for not having his permit. Im just concearned that if it happens again, will the same thing happen? I have no problem working with you or your people and don't envy your job. You have to cover your ass at all times. It just bothers me to have been treated the way we did. I had the windows down, licence out, didn't drink and drive, told the truth about the weapons, it went bad after that.

That sounds fair IMO.
