Honest and good Christians should not scare you, most are not fanatical nut jobs. There are more fanatical nut job gun-nutz than Christians I would think! I meet firearm enthusiasts once in a while that honestly think they are preparing for some sort of civil war or race war.... those are the scary folks!

I shoot IDPA matches and I carry for protection from evil, my family means the world to me and my firearms are only to ensure that if someone desires to do harm unto me or mine, I stand at least a chance of turning the odds in my favor to survive. If I could get a LEO to follow me and my wife/kids all day and camp out in my yard all night, I would not need a firearm. There are so few LEO out there and so much ground to cover that the odds of one being there in your time of distress as it happens is honestly slim to nothing...

It is up to you to survive until the LEO can arrive to take over, and odds are great that by the time he responds to a violent crime in progress.... he will be there to gather facts and investigate. You or the bad guy will already have played out your hand and be finished with whatever the results will be.

Evil is completely random, and LEOs are stretched far and few between. Good luck out there.

The open carry section of PAFOA is a scary place... some good people in there but also a lot of people that go out of their way looking for a confrontation... IMO.

Next time I get a guy with no permit and a firearm in his car I will call u.

I have stopped 100s of cars with people carrying.

I check thier permit.

Ask them to keep thier hands on the wheel until I get back.

Get thier warning or citation.

It wasn't my stop so I have no clue what was initially asked or said.

I encounter people all the time on stops with "legal" weapons.

I have seen people carrying stolen guns.

I rarely check a gun though.

If they have a valid permit on a traffic stop that is all I need.

Actually you did earlier in this thread by saying "I" as you were talking about and describing an LEO doing his job, thus indicating that you are a part of the "we" that makes up the boys in blue.

I appreciate Law Enforcement and I understand what it does for a society, but I also know that todays LEO have a tough job because there are so many laws and so many interpretations of the laws... and often these things are being reinterpreted due to court cases. It is not realistic for any LEO to know every detail of every law and fully understand the or keep up with the changes that happen pretty much constantly.

Many times I bet a LEO forgets that his job is to protect and serve the innocent, the general community. Some LEOshave a hard on for the power of the badge and like to flex thier power on every person they encounter be it a good standing law abiding person or not. Thankfully, the greater majority of LEO are normal dudes and would rather LOL and make nice than act out thier high school power trip fantasy. But then there are those few in every group that find a way to make a bad name for all of them..... I bet you know of at least one in your own department, you know, that ass-hat that you would love to just slap silly for being born stupid. That is him!

Nah, There are a lot of people that go out of their way looking for confrontations with law enforcement over OC/CC.... Not saying the whole board is but I think there are too many that get excited over it.
