^^poorly IMHO, lol
-Thinkin' to self as I walk back to my car-
"Man that guy is a reall asshole"
As he should expect. He would be knowingly giving you shit... or to say he knows that he is displaying his dislike to the situation, and he likely knows that the officer will read this and react in like.
What amazes me is how many times I've been pulled over (both while carrying and while not) and just talked casually and with a smile to the LEO and you know what.... I have not gotten a ticket in years! I've gotten 3 written warnings in the last couple years, I've gotten many "Slow it down, if I see you speeding again I will not cut you a break." lectures... but by just not treating the LEO like a shit bag, they react to you in a totally different way.
I always try to keep in mind that LEO generally deal with the shit-bag scum of the earth all day/night. When they meet honest to god good people.... I think they are relieved! Inside they likely say to themselves... WOW, this is the first guy I met all day that is not a shit bag! And if you meet them on an even ground.... talk friendly and be honest and open... you help them drop the hard ass cop attitude that they have to keep in place while dealing with ass hats.
It works for me. Try it. Tell him you feel bad for him being forced to stand there in the 90 degree sun half the day wearing black..... tell him you honestly knew you were doing 5 or so over but accidentally crept up faster... but don;t say that if you were doing 20 over... you knew! In that case tell him the truth! I was just getting on my car a bit to see how it felt after the new tune or intake I just got installed... maybe he is a car guy and will start talking cars with you?
I got off once on RT 65 North of the burgh doing over 110 MPH at night because the cop liked my Chevelle and we started bullshitting about cars. After about 20 min of not bringing up anything about my speeding, he told me to be carefull and slow the F down. This was after we popped the hood and looked over the engine and he checked out the interior and wanted me to start it so he could stand behind and listen to the Flowmasters while I revved it a bit. Lucky? Hell yea! But I'll take all the luck your passing out for free!

I never said I was going to treat anyone like shit, I'm always respectful of the officer. I always answer yes sir, no sir, etc. I'm no criminal and don't expect to be treated like one.
These are not answers I use often, if I feel an officer is going to far for no reason I will respond like this.
I have had for the most part trouble free incidents when being pulled over. I just hand over my license, registration and insurance, get my citation or warning and I'm on my way.

lol
I've always just handed my LTCF with my drivers L and the LEO has always asked if I have a weapon with me. Every time I have they ask where it is and tell me to keep my hands away from it and in sight. I also always grab the wallet from my right rear pocket long before the LEO is to me, that way I don't have to tell him I have a weapon on the right side and then I have to reach my right hand to my right side to get the wallet. I feel by doing that, it eases his job because he is not staring at me as I reach past a loaded weapon... he can relax knowing I was upfront and honest and doing everything I could to make his job a little easier. I personally think the LEOs appreciate when a good person acts out with kindness and understanding, it's a switch from what cops have to deal with many times per shift.
My insight into making LEO's lives easier with me comes from the fact that one of my long time best pals is a local officer and my friend who I hang with and shoot with is a Beaver County Sherrif. From talking to them, I get it.... they deal with total assholes all the time. To make my life easier, I try not to be the next asshole they have to deal with. It always pays off in spades!
