What should I pay for used Paxton Novi 2000

A friend of a friend is apparently removing his existing engine with Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger- He's going with a big block. It's on the car and running at the moment. But it's not in this local area so I can't take a look at it- as if I would know the in's and out's of these anyway. Looks like $3500 or so new. So assuming it's all there and nice condition what should I expect to pay ... 40% 50% 60% ?

    Thanks ahead for any input.

What are you buying? Motor, blower everything? What parts are on the motor? What parts are on the motor? Its a big difference if its a stock motor with a blower or its a forged bottom end hci stroker motor. Get a list of what parts are there then some opinions on price can be made.

Miles on the S/C could make a difference too, just a thought.

Sorry for the confusion. Just specifically the blower and whatever came with it as it came new from the manufacturer, not the motor. Maybe an extra pulley. The blower should have about 4000 miles on it from what I understand.

That seems a bit cheap for a Novi 2000. If I was to do a centrifugal SC I'd be hard pressed not to run a Novi 2000, they are one impressive blower from the cars I've known to run them.

If it comes with all the supporting stuff like discharge pipe etc, i would expect to pay around 2400-2500.

i love my novi. I made over 900rwhp last week with my 408w in my 89 gt that weighs 2642 lbs on a 4000lb dyno jet. Also that was with 2 broken rockers and over .045 of last on some of the rockers because the spring pressure was too much for my rockers. Either way I have the race edition with ceramic bearings and I paid over 2500 just for the blower. A regular one with all of the brackets should be under 2000.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the informative responses! I'll see what works out. Now I hear that this fellow with the car is reconsidering his engine change anyway. He's waffling, just like me at the moment .....

Aside to 90TitaniumStang- HUGE number into 2642 pounds. Gasp ....
