    Title Trans. Question

How would I go about transferring a title to someone in another state? He asked me to leave it in my name and just send it to him, but that sounds/seems really shady to me. If something happens wouldn't that be my ass that gets fried? Thanks for the info guys!

you cant do an "open title" like that in PA anymore, they have to have the buyers name and a copy of their license. I think they do this so you cant sell the car a bunch of times without transferring the title to the new owner........they would miss out on sales taxes

    1. You go to the notary
    2. Notary fills in the buyers info (name & address) on the title
    3. Notary fills in the purchase price on the title
    4. Notary notarizes it
    5. Notary charges you a small fee
    6. Now the vehicle officially belongs to the new owner
    7. Mail the title to the new owner via certified mail

When he comes to pick the car up, have him stop at the notary with you.
