    Tattoo Advice

I have been looking to get a tattoo for a while now. I cannot seem to find a person locally that I like their artwork enough to have them tattoo me. I am looking to get a St. Florian tattoo like below, but instead of the village I am going to get the city of Pittsburgh. Does anyone know of a person in the “Pittsburgh” area who can do a tattoo like this?

On a side note, I have been on contact with a reputable portrait tattoo artist and he quoted me $2,000. He said it would take about 12 - 16 hours.

Going tonight to take my ideas to a chick who did my wife and one of her friend's full sleeve. She's over in Turtle Creek. I can ask for an estimate if you want. She's a single mom who does this for extra cash.

I've been going back n forth on where to go. My buddy just got one done yesterday at True Images by Russ, looks great.

Mark Clifford at Human Productions has some awesome stuff in his gallery, don't know much about them other than it takes a long time to get an appt.

I went to High School with Chris Blick at American Tattoo and he's got a very good rep, but again a long wait to get him.

Seems everyone has a good recommendations, but no one really says to who to avoid. My wife is strongly opposed to South Side Tattoo. Expensive and they charge to draw things up. I'm ok with charging to draw it up, but they don't credit you with the charge (sometimes $50) towards getting the tattoo. I think Russ charged 20, but then took 20 off the cost when he did the job.

Casey at Studio 42 (She owns it). Her specialty is portraits and such in shades of black/grey and she has been featured in magazines as well as been flown around to place her work on other prominant tattoo artists bodies. She did some work on my wife and did a fine job.

Another local to Pitt superb color guy goes by the name CRAYON, not sure where he is working now but if you ask around Crayon can't be too hard to locate. He is one of the better color artists in the region.

OK, here is Crayon... simple Google search found him easy.

Pretty sure Joe did a few of my Dad's..

I got one of mine done at South side from Veronica when I was 15

Still holding up nicely, colors obviously faded a TINY bit but better that what I expected. Little pricey though for just a cross.

Got this one from Tattoo you 4..The M is a little crooked but its turned out well, red and black hasnt lasted as long at the one I got at southside, But still looks good.

mark clifford from human is very good, and the wait isnt too bad for him as it is for ben merrell there...youll wait along time for ben but mark no.

im currently getting work done by mark, and have a mini session left and when he went to schedule me it was first week of october so youll only wait about a month if you schedule now, but he does tend to fill up fast.
