Spun axle tube

Double classing at track and left at 6700 and back goes right I steer right to get straight. Back kept going right. Pulled off to side got and seeing tire into quarter just laughed. Ah well was going to happen sooner or later. I knew they need welded but never got around to it.

I may try and get this one turned. Then welded/braced. Still gonna try and pick up another housing.

So what your saying is... that I should weld up my fathers 8.8 before he tries to be like Ed? Are you going to build your own truss for the tubes to pumpkin or would you say to go buy something that is pre-fab?

No idea what Ed has planned, but I added the Swarr Bar to mine as part of my winter upgrades ...

Run it for now Larry, but that is a good upgrade over the winter if you keep launching hard on sticky tires.
Ed had more than a few launched on that stick :)

Okay Ed, here is the plan .... 7,000 rpm launch in REVERSE ... spin that sucker right back into place. Some how more RPM has to solve this ;)

If you look at the inner wheel well on the 3rd picture down from top, he was rubbing that, but I don't see and wrinkles in the quarter panel.

You were lucky, it could have done some pretty dang $$$$ damage to your body panels and such. You better keep saying your prayers every night, God was protecting your Stang from carnage!

Steve, the first time I looked I skimmed the pics and missed that, I was looking at the axle tube and trying to see what he was showing us.... and I missed that rub on the inner fender. The next time I came to this thread I caught that and could not believe I missed it prior. That falls under the catagory of not seeing the forest through the trees!

Well, it;s apparent that it wasn't enough RPM in the first place. If it was, it would of spun the tires and not the axle tube ;)

Ouch! I passed by track yesterday on my way home from the 'burgh and I saw the orange beast sitting at PRP and I told my wife uh-oh! I knew it wasn't there by choice. Good luck with the rebuild!
