Hello. I have a 1990 fox 5.0 and when the vaccum advance kicks in it looses spark. Idles fine and runs great at wot. Vaccum line disconnected from advance and does not loose spark. Any ideas? I'm thinking distributor but it doesn't make sense to me.

TPS? just a guess, but i'd test it.
No tps its carberated. That's exactly what it feels like though
Wire for the pick up coil inside the distributor is probably rubbing or losing contact when the advance moves.
The wire must be broken right where it goes into the pickup coil. when checking with a meter it goes open when i move the advance manualy. thankyou both for your input.
