    Saturday at PRP

This saturday is nostaligia day at PRP and they have a host of things on the schedule.

Most important (:D) is that they also have a combimed UMTR and ProStick race. The speculation in the stick shift circles is that there will ikely be 80-100 stick shift cars there if things come together.

The race will run under the UMTR format with a "Quick Stick" and "Street Stick" class. slicks and all are alowed in both classes with the only really difference being a minimum ET for Quick Stick.

If you want to have a great time racing your stick shift car against ONLY other stick guys, this is the deal. Bring them on out and let make this the biggest stick shift group anyone has seen. Even if you arent running, the UMTR guys always try to make a good show of it! Well worth it to see those guys, let alone the others.

I'm looking forward to relaxing and checking this show out!

The UMTR/Pro Stick has no year restriction on it, I believe? Please correct me if I'm wrong, Bob.

There will be nostalgia funny cars, front engine dragsters, nostalgia stock/super stockers, gassers, the car show, Bill Truby's old PID and Keystone pics on display.... good times!!!

That is correct, No restriction on years. The only restriction is that car has to be configured correctly with three pedals and a manual lever to change gears NO SLUSH BOXES :D

Quick stick is 0-11.99, street stick any ET (lots of quick stick guys double class) ... slicks, etc allowed in both classes. UMTR rules ...

    http://www.umtrnorth.com/rules.asp

As I understand it, this will be a UMTR race, so their rules apply. There is a gap between the two. The Pro stick guys require 11.49 or quicker and do not allow any DOT tires on the rear. UMTR is as above (11.99 and allow DOT's).

I can not tell you guys how much fun the UMTR guys are. Every time I've run with them they have been exceptional people to be around, all of them/. They usually have people to help out in the water boxes that understand stick shift cars, bring photographers out, and at most track have their own announcer. A great group of people to be around!

What a great day at the track ... nostaligia cars, funny cars, sling shot dragsters, lots of fun!

I made it to the Semi finals in street stick ... blew the tires off the last pass. As best I could tell, I was the only local in either stick class, the rest where UMTR regulars. lots of fun to race with other stick cars.

Thanks Chuck for the shout out's all day ... I didn't hear much but everyone said you was talking my junk up big time!

Car was mostly 12.33 to low 12.40's on only 24 psi ... except the last pass when it blew the tires away and went slow. I made one small change to the car between the 1st and 2nd TT (and it picked up a tenth), but never had the laptop out all day. Decided to just have fun and take what the car would run.

The good news is I got the fuel worked out Friday night, so it's all on the timing & boost side now.

Thanks! I think the funny cars was the show today. They really worked to put on a show and delivered. Also some of the Quick stick guys are out of control too :D

Somewhere in Ohio there is a nostalgia funny car race every year. I was out of town this year, but WILL be there next if that's the kind of stuff they bring out. I always loved the old floppers.

Some of those UMTR cars were something else to watch. I loved the ones that left the starting line wheels up, shifted to 2nd wheels back up, and then into 3rd wheels back up again. Not as much carnage as I expected either. I was waiting for it the way most of the UTMR racers left.
