Does anyone know what the difference is between the 4cyl and 8cyl t5 trans is?

First and second gear have a lower ratio, other than that I'm not sure.

Ratios are very different (much lower in 4 cylinder). This also results in a lower torque rating.

The pilot on the input is smaller on the 4 cylinder box.

There is also a difference in length of the inputs (4 cylinder is longer), but it's mostly not important.
