Christ. I'm done running there. I hate the fact they hose down your lane even if you have street tires.

Not everyone is running a Dodge Ram or a Motorcycle and feels the urge to do a "cool" burnout that does nothing for you.

It's to bad we (SCS) can't buy it and have it as our own personal track.

It's a waterbox, that is what is expected on a drag strip and what happens at any other track. Pull through then spin your tires over a few times to dry them off. You are in the minority taking street tires to a drag strip, deal with it.

Meh, very true. I thought most places had their waterbox off set so you could drive around so you just have the rear wheels wet.

The only local track I have been to like that is Dragway 42 where you have to back into the waterbox. PRP you pull through like QCR.

Thats the one. I wanted to say Dragway 42...

I promise I'll get DR's so I quit whining about water, running 13s and 2.3 60 foot times.

...and Steel Valley Dragway near Stuebenville.

PRP does the same thing. I've actually shaken my head and hand at the guys at PRP...they look at me with a blank stare and spray the water anyway. LOL

Too bad about QCR- it's a really cool track and a fun trip out there.

Maybe the new owners will level off the back half of the track.

Wow, so QC is closing? (they are selling equipment separately).

Lots of memories. First place I ever raced (1980 in my first car a 67 Fastback).

And sadly, a friend and champion QC racer lost his life there too.

Quaker was an awesome track... The facilities make PRP look like shit.

the only problem is the uphill end of the track causing it to be a bit slower then PRP.

I got spoiled playing at Maple Grove the last few years.

In my memories QC had the same park like setting as the grove.

PRP is kind of well not so nice......

I'll believe it is sold to a new owner when I see a copy of the Deed with new owners name on it or it will turn out just like the other year. A bunch of BS

Quaker City was a great track in the early and mid 90's. We were there over Memorial day weekend and the track is not in good shape. I am going to run there this Saturday just in case it is truely over. They are selling with no reserve this time. I have heard the local government was interested in it over the last year or so. We will see.

Man, this really is kind of sentimental for me.

I might have to go out there this weekend just to say so long.

I thought the city of Salem already owned it?

Meh. I need to get to PRP instead.

Gets old on T&T night when you have to wait for Junior Dragsters and Snowmobiles to go down the track.
