X3... the last time it went to auction, I believe it the winning bid was 1.2 million? I truly wish Mr. Fox the best of success if he does become the owner. I just hope he follows the rules of the ring, and protects himself at all times.

No wonder I have such fond memories of the late 70s/mid 80s.The NHRA was Quaker City's sanctioning organization from the 1970s until 1999 when Vivian Mossey sold it to Dan Swindell who changed it to the IHRA.
That would be awesome if it became NHRA again!
I like the local strips when they had a NASCAR sanction the classes were more interesting with "run-whatcha-brung" attitude..

I prefer IHRA because its more Sportsman racer friendly but either way its shoulders above what it was.
Thats good to hear... I hope they do well
Yes, good news indeed!

They will be in the Northstar bracket finals with PRP then ?
Yep and Im guessing if they get that place fixed up and the track resurfaced thats where the Finals will be next, after 2011
Pretty certain they will be. They were before, and New England has switched to NHRA, so that's one team out of the division. And Quaker will be able to apply to host the brackets, like Mikey said.
I just wish the new owner best of luck. I'm glad he bought the track and is keeping it a track. We need to keep all of them open, because in this day and age, if a track closes, it's gone forever.
I'd heard somewhere along the way that QCR goes up in the second half because the bedrock it's laid over goes that way. To level it out means you have to level the stands and pits out too, and the bedrock is one big sheet. Just what I heard, not sure if that's the truth.
But then you lose the uphill burnout box ;)
I was joking about switching the track, but on a serious note, if it is bedrock and big $$ to flatten, that should be cheaper than leveling
