Official 2010 - 2011 Penguins Thread

Welp - I've been ITCHING for weeks now for the start of hockey.... October 7 is the first game, but tonight is the first pre-season game!!

What do you guys think of the off-season moves?

I think they Pens have really strengthened where they were the weakest last year - defense.. As long as Fluery can rebound well, I think we'll have a deep run into the playoffs.... I've never been a fan of Fleury at all, but we'll leave that baby in bed... gotta have some good goaltending come playoff time if you wanna succeed....

Also, still hoping the pens can find that scoring winger for Crosby and/or Malkin... maybe Comrie can do well on Malkin's line... either way, i heard them mentioning today on the radio that no winger has gotten to 30 goals on Crosby's or Malkin's line.... that's not good - we gotta find someone that can play with the best players in the world....

Either way... GO PENS!!!!! I'm pumped!

I'm bummed the game wasn't on tv! First in the consol and all. Oh well, it's just pre-season.

welcome to western Pennsylvania everyone, football gets worshiped around here more than religious people worship the pope, its ridiculous and hockey never gets the attention it deserves

Um ready for some hockey for sure! As of lately I've been pretty sick of just seein and hearin about football and the Steelers! Kinda gettin on my nerves for once in my life. I think between all the Steelers pre-season games combined I watch like 5 minutes of'em.

1st game at consol was awesome!!

can't wait for openining night against the flyers

also, the game was not on tv because fsn also has the pirates contract and they had a game last night

fyi - i heard saturdays home preseason game will be on the cw channel

So I heard Malkin actually seemed to have a heartbeat last night. I've been hearing he was struggling last year with a nagging shoulder injury, and his play reflected it.

Overall how did the team look?

Consol was awesome! It was everything I expected it to be. Any seat is great, the crowd was into it, the goal horn is incredibly loud, bathrooms are still crowded but the lines move very fast or at least in the upper bowl they do. The only down side to it was that it isn't the Mellon.

But I was surprised that Malkin played almost the whole game. Defense looked good but like bish said, I'd like to see a good clicking winger step up and play with Crosby.

Me and my mom headin to the game tonite! They looked pretty good too. Um still not impressed with the new arena even after my second time bein their n all. Manual toilets and sinks, lets spread those germs! Not enough leg room at your seats! Not all seats have cup holders, so your 10dollar beer or beverage gets knocked over every time u move to let someone thru, wtf!? Kinda disapointin, I thought it be cream of the crop futuristic style ya know? And damnn they need a crosswalk over the main road in between the two areaz too!!
