Omg can't dare kick the lever on the pisser, arena sucks.

You don't have to turn the sinks off, they do that automatically and there are auto dispensing paper towel dispensers... so you germaphobes cant cry.

Had plenty of legroom at our seats last night, more then what we had back at the mellon in the same section/row.

The poor people don't get cupholders, oh well... I hold my beer.

The arena is fantastic... there are some slight logistical issues that need worked out in the concourse for the upper bowl, the lines for the food vendors near the corners make it extremely hard to walk through but I am sure it will get better. Awesome game last night!

I agree. He stinks right now.

This team can't play a full 60 minutes to save their life. It went from tape to tape passing to something that looked like a game I play with my neighbors. What is the fetish with passing into coverage?

How many times do they have to try that friggin pass across the blue line? Gino makes 8.75m per year and does almost nothing and Crosby needs to step it up a notch too. I don't want to sound like I'm over-reacting but this team can do much better.

I have to disagree with gino not doing much. He is a force on the ice. Our problem IMO lies in consistancy.

He does alot of stick handling and skating but nothing really comes from it, I'm sure he'll start producing goals but for the here and now I think he's underachieving

    X2....

Torchred, are you watching the same games as I am?? Like John said, Gino is an absolute force nearly every time he's on the ice.... Whether or not goals come of it isn't entirely up to him....

I'd also like to note something about the PP that i know some (or most) wont' agree with, but i firmly believe it... I think goligoski is the problem... don't get me wrong, i think he's a great young talent, and i think he's a great defenseman even strength.... BUT, i think he's a major liability on the PP....i've never seen someone so nervous on the ice with the puck... if he gets it, they pressure the shit outta him, which causes him to make stupid mistakes,... they know he's not gonig to shoot it, so they target him... Notice how the teams never pressure Gonchar that way? That's becasue they knew he'd make them pay... same thing with Crosby and Malkin... PK units just sit back, because they know if they pressure, Gino will go around them, and make something happen .... I like the looks of Letang on the PP.. he's shooting the puck more, and i'll be damned, he's getting it on net now-a-days.... he's really improved in that department i think.... I know you'll all think i'm nuts, but i just think goligoski has to get taken off teh #1 PP unit.... I'm used it though... i've bitched for 4 years about how i think Fleury is a terrible goalie, and i'd trade in EVERY SINGLE amazing save, if he'd just make the ones a high-school goalie could make..... Finally, i'm not the only one preaching that song

This, except it's all the time. You can look back to any Penguin thread on here and you'll see my comments on him. I never liked him. I don't think he's a strong asset at all on the ice at any time. He looks terrible and like you said, when any pressure is put on him he coughs up the puck or makes stupid mistakes. Don't even get me started on the fact that people blow by him all the time. I mean jesus man, don't let the opposition just walk right around you. Stop them once and a while. Play a little defense.

And people, please don't get the Fleury hate train going. He's a great goaltender and should have been playing this whole time. Not Johnson. There is a very good reason why Johnson has spent most of his career as a back up goaltender.

If you say he's better then Fleury, then I'd love to hear a rational argument to back that up. And no, saying he currently has more wins then Fleury is NOT a rational argument.

Maybe it's the move to wing thats affecting him but I don't feel the 3 goals and 8 points in 10 games is the kind of production he's capable of when Letang has 2 goals and Letestu has 4, both of which make a whole lot less $$. Not that I'm hatin' on the guy...

I would normally agree because I love seeing Flyers getting fvcked up but I hate Asham just as much. Such a bad pick up.

WTF Pens fans, where you be?

It's about time they start stringing some wins together. They looked ok tonight. They had a terrible 2nd period but the 2nd isn't their strong point.

Seems like they're finally becoming a team. Still have some areas to work on but overall much improved.

    Agreed.

I'm glad they are riding Fleury out. I was saying that from the beginning.

As for the defense, they've looked anemic at times and other times, look amazing. If they play like they are able to, then it's going to be a long season.

It's good to see some people that are not in the spotlight get some attention. IE: Letestu, Conner.....

I hope Staal stays OUT of the line up and has a very loong recovery.

I've been pleased with the Pen's play as of late also....

I was at the Boston game when they just fell apart in the 3rd, and it was so disheartening.... but all the pieces seem to be comign together...

defense looks pretty good again (I still dont like Goligoski) .... I've always been very high on Letang, and he is really becoming a world-class defenseman as i've imagined he would be...

Crosby is playing lights-out ... i really don't think he's as dominant 100% of the time as Stigerwald and Errey make it sound, but there's no doubt, he's always in the right place at the right time to score goals...

Malkin is playing spectacular... i know he's still not lighting up the score sheet, but i think he's playing phenomenal .... seems like at times he can't buy a goal... he works hard and makes TONS of opportunities for himself and others, but he keeps getting robbed!! nonetheless, i think he's playing like the top3-in-the-world center that he is - its just not always showing on the score sheet...

Fleury is looking much, much better.... I'm still not a fan of Fleury, and there's probably no way you will ever convince me that he's the franchise player that much of pittsburgh think's he is.... He's cut down on the soft goals lately, and looks what's happening - we're winning... I think a lot of his success can be attributed to the good defensive play lately - read yesterday on Bucci's blog that the pens are giving up the fewest shots per game! One thing i'd just pray for is that he'd quite giving up goals on the first shot of the game...

Overall - pens look really good right now... woudl like to see them play a team like Detroit to see if they are really as good as we're all thinking - but lets wait til they mesh a little more, and get Staal back... :)

Oh, and if i could make one more observation.... does anyone else notice that when Crosby and Malkin are on the same line, they're always making somethign happen??? Like, would i really be that bad of a coach to have them on the same line all the time??? I understand that by doing this, particularly without Staal, you make your second line MUCH less potent, but come on.... when those guys are together, they're unstopable... And i just can't figure out why Bylsma doesnt' play them together more?

last nights game was one of, if not the best game the pens played in a long time IMO.

Some things I can see lately:

PP looks fantastic. Zone entry is smooth and consistant. When they get setup, puck movement is great. I love how Letang is putting pucks on net more often and showing confidence.

Yesterday was the first solid game I've seen Machalik (sp?) play. Hope he continues it..

Goligoski has offensive talent but is still a goof on defense. I still don't know if the tradeoff is worth it or not.

Dupius is playing his ass off like usual, 110% every game. Kunitz is doing very well at getting to the goal and causing probs for the netminders.

Conner and Letestu are both skilled players and seem to be filling in nicely.

The penalty kill has kept them in games they probably should have lost.

    Fleury is playing with confidence.

I like how calm and consistant Martin is. I think that was a good pickup. Would like to see him more involved on offense though.

Passing in general is night and day. Exiting their own zone looks effortless right now.

Sid is unstoppable right now, and Malkin looks strong as well.

Hope they all can keep up the good work!
Would be nice to see a goddard/iginla, or engeland/iginla scrap this afternoon.
