I'd also like to make note that i'm a HUGE Kris Letang fan, but i though he looked really poor this series... not physically, but mentally i felt he just wasn't there..

can't wait til October to get here again!

yea letang didnt seem himself. it will be nice to start with a clean slate again next season, just too much stuff that happened this season. Its better than losing to the caps of flyers, i agree, if they lost to the caps i wouldnt hear the end of it from a guy at work

    From the Pens website:

KDKA News Pittsburgh, PA just reported on their evening news that there was never any intention to bring back Sidney Crosby this season. They then did a piece on concussions and interviewed former NHL player, Keith Primeau. Primeau stated that Crosby has reached out to him during his rehabilitation and sent him a list of questions. He cautioned Crosby and stated he had suffered four concussions and played during that time. Today five years removed from playing he still experiences headaches and head pressure. He said, no game is worth someone's brain and quality of life. Primeau has donated his brain to science for research after his death.

Heard today on the radio that Sid had a major setback. All the original symptoms came back - after 4 months. Pretty scary stuff. Hopefully he'll be alright for next year, but more importantly, I hope this doesn't turn into a chronic problem that will stay with him after hockey...whenever that might be.

On the Crosby thing, I heard that there was only a minor set back in the form of some minor headaches.

But I think he'll be back and healthy next season along with everyone else.

Anyways, for what they were up against this season, the team went further then I would have ever imagined. They leaned on Fleury and the stout defense in front of him which came up big time in and time out.

They almost knocked out Tampa Bay which, as I'm currently watching Game 3, are about to go up 3-0 on the number one seed in the East so that says something. You can't win if you can't score and you can't score when all your big scorers are sidelined. It was what it was. They were never going to go to the East finals. I mean, lets be honest.....

All in all, it was a great season. At least I was at 2 of the 4 home playoff games.

Now I shift my attention to the off season. Curious to see how things pan out. I would love to see Dupuis stay. I think he is a hustler and gives 100% all of the time. He's also a good locker room guy and can score. I love Max but I think he's going to be gone and I'm fine with it. He's a great locker room guy but I have been less than impressed with his play the last two seasons.

    We shall see.....Let's go October.....

Sid's quote on the radio regarding the symptoms referenced the return of the headaches "and everything that came with it". That's scary stuff. Hopefully he'll be ok - but we'll all be on the edge of our seats the next time he takes a big hit.

Bolts up 3 games to none over O-chokeskin and the Caps. Gotta love that!!

No doubt scary stuff. I just heard (reported on a sports radio talk show) that the "big" symptoms were really nothing more then some minor headaches. I think it might have been Rob Rossi but then again who knows with the media. For every one thing you hear, you hear 10 others things that disproves it so...

Let's just hope for Sid and Geno to return at the beginning of next season rested and healthy with a great team behind them.

Here's an interesting question for you hockey folks......

If you had to pick Wash or Philly to go to the finals against the West, who would you rather see go?

I know who I would pick but since this has been a topic of discussion between my friends and I as of late, I'm curious to see what other hockey fans think.

    Seriously.....

If you were Sidney Crosby....and you already have your name on the cup....you already have an olympic gold medal....and you already have enough money to last the rest of your life....

Why would you ever play again?

IMO it's not woth the risk of permanent brain damage.

I would hang up the skates and enjoy the hell out of the rest of my life....

No offense but that's why you're not a professional athlete and he is .... He's special and has a competitive drive that we could never fathom.
